how fast are you looking at running? because there is nothing wrong with a jatco into the mid 10's. trimatics are about $4K built and installed. powerglides are not exactly becoming the most common transmissions around, and if you ever plan to drive it on the street a 'glide isnt really that friendly. unless you are looking at the faster vl's around, dont copy their trans setups, because they are set up for fast quaters, and if you arent running similar, you will probably loose time through having a mismatched setup. talk to a trasnmission specialist about your power output and et goals, and they should be able to match you up to a good package. and thats what it has to be. a package.

get a jatco if you want to run 10's, get a KEAS jatco if you want to run 9's. if you plan on running 9's then you must have pretty deep pockets, so get a really good jatco built by paul. only 4 grand, and it will be driveable on the street.
