got a mate with a v8 vc. he's blown the diff now what i want to know is what can be swapped over for his current single spinner. was thinking maybe a 9incher. But just wondering if the vlt can be modded to fit a vc. Thanks

im not 100% but i think it may bolt straight up. is his VC a 253 or 308? the VC use the Salisbury 10 bolt diff but i think the diff housing where the trailing arms bolt up are the same... also the tailshafts are different to a vl.

You'll have to change/modify the yoke to fit the tailshaft to the vl diff

Bolts straight in, and yes the yoke needs to be changed!!!!

Diff will bolt straight in. Though with the tailshaft couldn't you just use one from a VL V8?

no becos the vls use a Borgwarner diff which means tailshaft is different.

duh.. If you put the Borgwarner diff into the VC then it too will use a Borgwarner diff just like the VL right? Thus you could use the tailshaft from the Borgwarnered VL into the Borgwarnered VC?

VL diff, vl v8 tailshaft shuold work fine. i used a VK one in my vb ( i have no idea why it had a BW diff, unless it was a trial in the last of the vk's)

Series 2 VK EFI's had the Borgwarner diff. 3.23:1 ratio.

i have a vl v8 diff in my vk. you will also need a vl handbrake cable. a vl v8 tail shaft wont fit.from memory the centre bearing was in a slightly different position.
