woke up sunday to see on my drivers side door that someone had tried to twist the lock with a screwdriver, and then try to rip it out from underneath. Not happy at all but at least they didnt get in (i think they were disturbed and fled) and my car was still there! So i consider myself very lucky Im thinking now of removing the locks and having metal plates there so its flush with door's

welcome to the life of the VL - my old N/A was broken into 11 times...yes 11... in 5 years... luckily my $15 kill switch saved it everytime... i guess the people trying to steal it were not the brightest peas in the pod...

Dont remove your door locks... That deems the car unroadworthy or some crap.. Just buy a set of solex locks they are about $100 and you can fit them easy... WeLLsY

i think it is only if you remove your door handles your car is deemed un-roadworthy.

in VIC if you can't remove the locks either. I don't know about the other states but i'd assume the same.

if u dont want locks leave the ones u have, take off teh door panel and move the cord connected to the lock, thast what iv done, they can snap the lock but iv just pulled away the cord they would pull on, on the end they wil sinply smash ur window like i just had done last nite

Haha. I friend of mine has no door locks. So it is all done with central locking. And the brainic has the battery floating around in his boot. No matter how many times i tell him to screw it down. So one day after a few tight corners and a lot of boost the battery fell over and riped the earth wire off. I am not sure of the full story but somehow he locked the car then he couldn't get back in cause there was no power to unlock the doors. After that he still has the batter just sliding around. So I don't think he is all there. Also think... what if he locks his car and leaves the lights on then his battery goes dead. Not getting back in in a hurry.

If you have no door locks you can run wires down from your battery so you can still get a jumper cable on.
