As previously advertised.
After discusions with a few automotive guru's, i have decided to stick with making the short runner design due to its overall performance with all types of mod's.
Plenums feature:
- appprox 7.5 litres in volume, can be made to vary depending on mod's
- equal length runners with bellmouths
- any size throttle body can fit (not supplied)
- recommend aftermarket computer, but std one can be retained
- comes with fittings for brake boost, boost gauge, wastegate etc
Prices start at $750 depending finish desired ($200 deposit req'd).

hmmm, not quite sure what the story is, if you ask me your plenum design with the short runners looks to be a quality product compared to the jd style plenums that many people have purchased! compared to others it is very reasonable priced!
my only guess is that everybody has already purchased a plenum, but that cant be right cause there are plenty of new comers to the forum!
come on guys this looks like a good product, pull your finger out people!

before and after results will be available in around a month as car is currenlty at the panel beaters. long runner design shows power gains of at least 20hp and massive increase in torque. short runner design, ill keep you updated.
ylook4 - just give me a couple of weeks notice.
vl.turbo, have you thought of drilling the rear of the plenum to suit, standard idle and aircon valves etc etc.
More people may be interested in a straight bolt up solution rather than changing everything to suit the plenum alone.
I have a JD plenum here and it just has a couple of holes drilled to suit the idle valves on the rear of the plenum, looks easy enough to add it.
Your product looks 100% better than the JD plenums, which to be honest are rough as ****, hence me not bothering to fit it.
Mick
can u post up the before and after dyno sheets??and if mine are so **** y do people keep buying them?? they have been on cars that have made up to 534rwhp and upto 33psi.
jamie
hey thats not fair dont bag the JD plenum theres nothing wrong with them and they have proved how good they r being in 10 sec vls so no bagging plz and vlturbo il let u know in a couple of weeks :)
thanks RB30-POWER, i just thought it would be easier for people to get the most out of the plenums with aftermarket computer. how about i leave that decisiojn up to them.
advert edited.
The JD plenum is just a BOX with no flow design what so ever. Its a storage tank for the charge air - nothing more to it than that.
Jamie: its a good plenum to make money off with its easy construction and design, but theres no fluid mechanics taken into account when you designed it. Air velocities and cylinder filling havent been taken into account. The Famous Nizpro Plenum is a great design because it has had at least 20 revisions, all tested back to back for power and torque characteristics. You have made about 15k PROFIT out of your plenums to date and will continue making more because its a well marketed product - but not that good by my standards. I can whack a box up with a tig welder in 1 hr and it will be the exact same thing as yours.
If i was to ram 33psi through a STANDARD manifold thats been power ported to the tune of $650 - what your plenum costs, ide make the similar power.
Theres stock VL heads out there making instane power only due to high boost pressures.
vl.turbo has taken an engineering approach to the plenums and its what i would be making if i had the time as i have access to welders and so forth.
Question vl.turbo you might want to play around with inlet runner lengths to get a sweet spot for the type of car its getting tuned for. ie: have a low streeter stage and a top end stage.
vl.turbo i hope you develop and dyno your plenums as you seem to be on the ball with your designs / theory.
That was very to the point, but hopefully jamie is willing to invest some of his profit into producing a more efficient/refined plenum by undertaking flow bench tests and on car testing. Give it time and there is the possibility for JD plenums to become a whole lot better, just like the nizpro ones, people invest in his product, he invests in making it better, others benefit from it. its not a bad thing.
Ollie
The only real gripe i have against them is the workmanship in certain areas of the plenum. It's hard to bag the performance of them without some real testing though.
With vl.turbo now offering a superior looking product and performing product and at a similar price, the jdcustom design will need to be revised and enhanced, in both workmanship and design areas, to compete with other offering's such as the vl.turbo item.
Originally when the jdplenum was released there was a big market for a vl aftermarket plenum at the "right price" but now with so many other offerings, you would really need to do your homework to continue selling them at the same volume.
Mick
bresciani doesnt bloody use them, theve dynod a few cars that had these plenums on the cars, and they said they work sufficient.
NO MORE TALK ABOUT JD PLENUMS. THIS IS ABOUT VL.TURBOS PLENUMS FOR SALE.... AND THERE A GOOD DESIGN.
john brought one the other week for a car, i will be doing my own flow bench testing,in a few weeks, is a high qaulity flow bench from usa, i have a jpc upside down one, can get a nizpro, and mine, will be testing as many as i can get, darkstar if u can make one in an hour i will pay u $100 a hour to make it?? i supply all the alloy, machines, welders etc, they take me 2 days to get one made.
