I'd keep it manual especialy if its a 5 speed. If your getting your exhaust get extractors aswell. That should give you a nice increase in power.

it's hard to say what would beat what with virtually no description on either car.......but, I'd put my money on the VT, even if it's a 6, the Black 308's aren't exactly a Power Plant (as stock), but put some headers on, a decent exhaust, get rid of the polution Quady, the cam, the dizzy, replace these with performance items and then she'll BOOGY!!!!

if both cars were stock the VT would destroy the 17 year old VK pusbox, easy.

yeah id have to say the VT as its newer, EFI and 147kW compared to roughly 122kW (benefit of the doubt as thats what vl 5ltrs are). although the vk would do a better burnout cos of the torque of a v8 Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

converting the manual to auto was a big job was going to set me back couple grand more, so i'm sticking to manual. any idea's what a quick shift will cost or a nice easy gearbox for the vk manual.

always wanted a vl turbo, especially different from everyone else. but seeing these cars on the site, how could i compete power and looks. plus where i live in perth it's vl country. so saw this vk and as soon as he started it up i knew it was mine. This VK will give most vl turbo's round my area a run for there money. Been built to pull low 13's 1/4 mile. I just gotta learn to do that now. Paint job and bodykit fitted this week hope to have it early next week. hope to post some pics of my new baby...

I'm guessing if its a non-HDT VK it will have a 4 speed M21 gearbox?? These gearboxes have a huge throw and are rather agricultural in design. I doubt there is a short shift kit available (although shortening the stick would be a dodgy way). Your best bet would be to fit a Supra 5 speed gearbox which are readily available from importers and the trading post. A bellhousing adaptor will be required and is available from Castlemaine Rod Shop and more than likely other places as well. A manual will be far more fun to drive and will possibly see better fuel conpsumtion figures than a trimatic IMO.

I know my stock as a rock VK Calais 5L wouldn't pull the skin off a rice custard so I can easily say that the VT would sh1t all over one.
