now i know that the VL fuel tank is 60L, with something like 16L reserve, (which seems pretty strange. surely that cant be right?) but i was wondering if anyone knew the size of each quarter tank? to me the first quarter seems to last alot longer than the last. i was thinking something like full - 3/4 -14L 3/4 - 1/2 - 12L 1/2 - 1/4 -10L 1/4 - empty -8L i guess this isnt something that too many people go out of their way to figure out, but hopefully someone knows cheers

Sorry can't help ya dude, but I know mine is a 83/85L tank, I can put 71 litres in from empty. Hope someone else can help ya on your question. Cheers Mick Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I would assume that each quarter of the tank is equal by deninition, i think what you are taking about is more what you see the needle on the dash showing you. I know what you mean, it feels like for the first 'quarter' you are going to get heaps good economy for the tank.... then the VL does its thing and appears to use a lot more fuel. I am of the opinion that the fuel readings in a VL are not that reliable, i personally just go on how many kms i have done in a tank, i find that much more reliable. tank is meant to be 63L for a calais (what i have) hope answers something?!?

All VL sedans had 63 litre tank as standard, 83 litre tank was a factory option on all and not standard on BT1s. Some BT1s did come with the option depending on where they were stationed Wagons had 68 litre tank

When you fill your tank right up the needle should go past the full line. This will be part of the reason why the middle two quarters appear to get used up quicker than the first and last. Corsa
