Seeing this car used to live at the top of the screen, I thought I'd keep everyone up to date with this cars progress. It copped a new set of Potenza G3's at Brisbane. Apart from the wipers dying on me 80kms from home, we had a fantastic drive back up the coast. I'm sure the beast enjoyed any opportunity to stretch it's legs from Brisbane to Cairns: I know we loved the trip! It won't have another trip like that wihle I own it, so I hope it didn't get attached to big highway runs! First impressions: "jeeeeeeeez, the owners of this car have kept EVERYTHING!". Absolutely every receipt, from oil filters to a replacement aerial have been kept, along with a folder chock full of the original brock paperwork, etc, etc. There's even a diary with service and parts histories written down. A big thumbs up to Sin and George: you've given me a platform to work from: I won't let you down!. OK, the car *IS* 17 years old, and there are a few minor probs with it, but in general, it's beautifully presented. The highlight definitely has to be the interior. My god, the roof lining could be straight out of a brand new car, it's that perfect. There's a few cracked bits of plastic (lhf a/c moulding, surround for shifter, etc), which I'll replace. The electrics are also getting a full look over by an auto-elec, as the wipers failed, and the mirrors are a little spastic (left is up, down is also up ??? ) and the rhf indicator doesn't work, even after a bulb change. The a/c's getting a service & re-gas, and it's getting new oil, plugs, filters, hoses, leads, etc. Also some new floormats! Turbo will be serviced by Ray Hall Turbocharging (really good, apparently!), Fulcrum are checking out the Bilsteins for me, and then it's off for a full detail, in and out. Two questions: 1. The bonnet paint is a little tired. Should I get the bonnet re-sprayed, or wait for a while and re-do the entire car later? 2. Would tinting the windows affect the originality of the car? It gets damn hot up here....... Cheers! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

1. try polishing it first. It was pretty much perfect when I had it. Good polish should be all it needs hopefully. Oh and your car will go back up the top when I work out how to do it

Heh - I've already figured out I can't leave it at work, as there's no shade! Guess that's got to be good for keeping the k's down! Ta Sin, I'll tell the detailer I'll slip him an extra $50 if he does the best job he's capable of. Hopefully you're right!
