Hi All, was cleaning my car on the weekend and found something usefull. you know when you wash the front of your car all the insects dont come off easy, even with high pressure hoses and a lot of elbow grease. I found that if you use "armor all, Glass cleaner" the bugs just disolve off the car. Spray it on and rub it off. The front of my car hasnt looked so much cleaner in years, the bumpers almost look brand new (except for a few stone chips). Thought this tip may be usefull to a lot of people on this forum. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

thanks mate, may be easier then getting mum to order bug/tar removerall the time. basically its the same stuff, comes in a spray can, just spray the bugs - leave it for 10 minutes or so and then rub off. good stuff, gets off everything that you can't get off by scrubbing.

watch out with glass cleaner, don't let it dry as it can ruin your paint... i usually use some cut and polish for the harder stuff, but elbow grease usually gets most of it off...

I have no idea how it got there. It appeared in all these places around my car, not to mention the screw drivers that I used to get the old stuff out. You reckon metho will get the stuff off? Thats about all I can think of to use.

if their heaps, you gotta get the bigger stuff of mechanically i.e. with a "plastic" scrapper so as not to scratch your paint.. then when theirs only a little bit left you can go and try metho, prepsol or turps (if you use turps i hope you got 2-pak paint if so you can use acrylic based turps and you shouldn ruin it).. but i would just try to rub the left over layer off with your fingers.. should come off...

Spray WD40 on tar spots and rub off with a tissue or rag, then get some warm soapy water and wash the area, when it is dry then get some polish and polish the area, comes up good as new
