My car started life as another VL fanatics project that wasnt completed. I was looking for a VL Turbo after my old VL was stolen and destroyed, being loyal to the tradingpost I finally saw something interesting. An ad for a VL Calais shell that was recently resprayed without engine and box for $3800. After driving down the coast to see it I was hooked, a $100 deposit and $3200 later it was on the back of the trailer on the way home. http://www.pbase.com/calaisturbo/DCP_0024.JPG So the question now was..... "what engine, etc shall we put in the car?". The engine bay was looking very, well, empty? http://www.pbase.com/calaisturbo/DCP_0004.JPG I looked at calaisturbo.com(.net) and saw all this hype about the RB20 conversions and decided that it was time to have something different to the norm and proceeded to invest in a RB20 engine package. After weeks of work by my faithful backyard (tradesman) mechanic Paul the engine was in and running. Although we couldnt give it any power because the intercooler wasnt done. http://www.pbase.com/calaisturbo/DCP_0054.JPG I got a Toyota Supra intercooler and got the piping done and the car was running. At the same time a TurboSmart Type II BOV was fitted It felt quick but there were definately some things that were wrong with it. The car was registered on the 31st of December 02. http://www.pbase.com/calaisturbo/DCP_0062.JPG I had a 3" mandrel bent exaust fitted and the car was dynod, making 132rwkw @ 10psi. The diff was identified as a problem and I replaced it with a 25 spline Borg Warner 4.11 minispool that was all brand new (internally). I also got a set of VR Clubsport 17's on the car. http://www.pbase.com/calaisturbo/DCP_0086.JPG The car was now performing a lot better but I was snapping an axle every second week because of my driving style and the weak 25 spline axles. So I had a 4 pinion LSD machined for 25 spline axles and installed. o more axle snaps but I preferred the nature of the minispool. I also upgraded the wheels on the car to (PSI-03L) 18" chromes. http://www.pbase.com/calaisturbo/DCP_0101.JPG In July (03) I decided because I had a spare car that I would take the VL apart and build it up as I was after around 230rwkw opposed to the 130rwkw, in retrespect I shouldnt have done this as I have missed driving the car. I have since bought a HKS 2530 turbo, Wolf 3d V4, GTR Injectors, Split Dump pipe, Bucket seats, Hyperflow Intercooler and new suspension. I will also be going back to a minispool setup using 28 spline axles. The car "should" be put back together and tuned before the end of March and I am hoping for 230rwkw on around 18-20psi. I will update this thread when I have more information. Thanks for reading and if you have any questions dont hesitate to PM me. Evan

I am pretty sure I used the standard one, or a hose I found in my mechanics garage and cut it to size. It was "a bit" flexible, I definately didnt buy it. Update: Car goes to Ricol PErformance next monday to get Tuning, Dump Pipe and finishing touches, will post what power, etc it makes. Evan
