my n/a vl has 240k on the clock and the only mods are 2 1/4 from the cat back with a vl turbo 3.45 lsd
my car does 0-100 in 10 flat (with all the necessary sterio in the boot)
what does every1 elses cars do, n/a 6, n/a 8 and turbo, also what are your mods
im my na 6 i had extractors 2.5inch exaust wif cold air induction my car probablhy got to 100 in bout 9 secs and that would be really kicking it in the guts

hmmm... assuming a 5.0 second 0-100 KPH time, that would work out to about mid to low 13 second 1/4 mile (roughly) - of course, even lower (very low 12) if its nearer to the 4 second 0-100kph time.

and would also mean in 10 second I would have reached 200kph.....so 13 second cars are hitting over 200kph over the 1/4????
My car launches hard, but dies (not really the right word) over about 100 to 110 then pulls hard again to 140 then petters out.....
Anyway 5.975 second reached 100kph from 0...sorry I should have got an exact time before I posted...FFS
Sorry to 1YLDVL, as I only wanted to post once on here.....Must be my name
Due to wind resistance, acceleration diminishes as you get faster (also to do with gearing as well, and power bands with revs). While all this plays a part in converting 0-100kph times into a 1/4 mile time, you can get a fair idea from looking up other times posted from other cars with a quick search using google - finding most cars doing a flat 5.0 0-100kph time are posting 13.5 sec qtrs (at about 105mph at the line).
4.0 0-100kph times will post somewhere in the mid to low 12 sec 1/4 - but certainly not at 300kph.
In your case, a 5.90 0-100kph time, will post in the range of about a mid 14 1/4 time or there abouts.

105 mph is 175kph

and what speed would I be doing over the line???
Pritty happy with mid 14's tho....

ooo and my rim and tyres are 235/45 17 so i'm .6% to fast

Here is an interesting site in regards to HOW 1/4 Mile calculators work and why and the different formulae used along with some "general" times - mph comparasons.
Also using this page - (assuming a VL weighs roughly 1400 kgs with driver or 3050 lbs), it can deduce that your vl has *roughly* 225-230 BHP
All these are estimates using formula's. Obviously this negates any traction issues, differences between auto and manual, gear shifting, and differences in launches (ie, lots of other variables).
Good ol' physics

This is where I got the KPM from:

yeah would be right...like I said before at about 140kpm it starts to petters out...it will go to 200 but takes awhile..plus feels very light in the front end at that speed....but 140 is nice to sit on...

I wish.......but I suppose the calculation are right Good ol' physics.....

quote from the conversion page above:
"Kilometers per hour = miles per hour times 1.61"
105 mph x 1.61 = 169.05 kph.
Using an acurate conversion program on the computer - it tells me 105mph is 168.9811 kph.
BHP is flywheel horsepower (hp at the engine) 230 HP = 171 KW
either way - I think this thread has gone far enough off topic.
Anyone else timed thier 0-100 times ????
hahahahahahaha yeah I think we have hoged it enough......
1 quik one I went the MPH x10 divide by 6 = KPH
But yeah 168-170 is close enough
Nice chatin with ya InsaneVL.....
Now lets get back to the thread......You Bloody people wann fu*k around here....j/k

Hers somthing to roughly work off
If your car does 0-100 in 5s then 100-200 will take around 8s so this means in 0-200 will take around 13s
So an na Vl does 0-100 in 10s then 0-150 will take around 17s
So you can get an idea that to run low times the 0-100km time is really important...
Cheers
I can't remember but very unofficial it would of been around 8 seconds. manual, 2.5 exhaust and extractors.
I'll redo it because I think it'd be faster now with the MX7. So I will do three runs and get an average.

I wouldn't look too much into this.. the figures will be way out, depending on diff gear ratio's ,cam etc..
