Marc's Black VL Calais Turbo
This is Marc' fabulous looking 1986 Series 1 VL Calais Turbo which is painted black with a green peal. Polished 16" HDT Momo Stars sit on all four corners and the car has been lowered 3" all around. Cross drilled brakes finish the picture.
The motor has been fully rebuilt, with a number of key upgrades in the internals. Forged pistons now reside in the bottom end of the motor, while the blocks received the works. The transmission has been upgraded to suit the power of the engine and it consists of a fully worked Jatco 4 speed auto with 3200rpm stall converter and transcooler. The motor is run on a low setting of 6psi, but can be turned up via the switch to 11psi. An extra injector is also in use. The entire package has been balanced and now produces a considerable amount more power thanks to the upgraded turbo. It is a hi flow T03 Sierra Cosworth unit which is much suited to how the rest of the car is set up to produce maximum power while still maintaining the least amount of turbo lag possible.
Customary 3" exhaust system from the turbo all the way to the tip has been bolted up. Out the back, the new LSD has been fitted up with some new gears resulting in a final drive ratio of 4.11:1. Also at the back of the car is a new hi pressure Porsche fuel pump which supplies the necessary fuel to the engine.
On the inside, Recaro buckets are in the front as well as in the back. Also inside is a boost and temperature gauge. The alarm has been upgraded as you would expect and solex locks on the outside.
