Petros - VL Berlina Turbo
Petros bought his VL Berlina 5 speed in October off one of his mates. Luckily enough his mate was a bit of a petrol head too, so the car came with a list of mods already done, which included:
Port and polished head
XF Throttle body
T04 Hybrid - vtrim back cut compressor wheel - turbo running into a dump pipe
Ported Exhaust Manifold
Port and polished head
Decompression Plate
3 Inch Mandrel Bent Exhaust
Pedders red all round
Performance cam
The previous owner also had the stock Berlina front and rear lights changed over to the Calais version, because he was not happy with the standard look of the Berlina. The car was originally an auto, but was changed over to a 5-speed for better performance, which Petros isn't complaining about.
Although the car looked pretty clean with the Calais front and back, the interceptors that came with the car were a bit too plain for Petros, so a nice set of 17's were purchased, giving the car a better and more individual look.
To get the car running properly the waste gate was fixed, because a bracket was in the way, and only allowing the car to boost to 10psi, which wasn't quite enough performance for Petros. A new 02 sensor was also installed.
A truck cooler was purchased and cut down to size, moving the radiator slightly back to fit it in, using all stainless steel piping. A custom inlet was also made, and a few custom brackets, like the one for the throttle cable at the same time. The battery was also relocated for some extra space.
A BOV, extra injector and custom made catch can will be added very soon, and a 3 way boost switch is the next thing on the cards, so he can take advantage of all of the new mods. 7, 15 or 20psi, will be his choices.
Future plans include a wolf3d computer, with a handheld controller. Later on down the track he is also thinking of tidying up the interior a little, with gauges, steering wheel, etc to go with the re-sprayed dash.
To keep the car safer from thieves, his lovely girlfriend bought him a top alarm for Christmas, now he can sleep a little easier at night, knowing his baby is armed.
Petros has always wanted a VL turbo, and although it took him so long to save up for it, he is extremely happy with it, and loves driving it.
