Andrew Sibo's VL Calais Turbo This is long time reader Andrew Sibo's series 1, 5 speed manual calais. The car is fitted with factory leather interior, and also in the interior is a Pioneer deck (CD of course) running 6x9's in the rear. An Autometer monster tacho has been fitted onto the dash for more accurate monitoring of the rpm, and a boost gauge also sits inside the cabin. Knowing that the gauge regularly reads upto 18psi, you could assume there's some work done to this motor. It all starts with a K+N air filter which is then compressed by a hi flowed T03 turbo. As you should be well aware, the hi flowed turbo makes a good deal of extra power over the stock turbo, and is well worth doing. The compressed air is then fed into a monster Garrett hi flow intercooler core which measures 900x285x80mm through the rather tasty looking polished stainless mandrel piping. Since the photo's the piping has been changed to aluminum. After making some decent power in the engine, the rest is left to the 3" mandrel bent exhaust from the turbo to the tip. This also incorporates a 3" straight through muffler and 3" hi flow cat. Work on Sibo's calais is still ongoing, and he has a few more things planned for the not to distant future. These include an aftermarket computer, which will mean he will then be able to fit bigger fuel injectors to feed the beast for fuel, and a big fuel pump is also in line. The car still looks as good as new due to a respray and continual polishing from Andrew. Contact: Email: [email removed] Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
