This is Ramon's VL Calais Turbo. It is a factory Calais Turbo but sold with an auto from the factory. It was purchased with all the mods you see here except the mandatory options of new Simmons FR17's. As the car was a factory auto it eventually blew up, then the previous owner made the right decision and fitted a manual box. The 5 speed gearbox is out of a R33 skyline which is quite tough but sits back around 5cm than the standard box sits. The engine remains close to factory specs recently rebuilt with a little bit of head work. It breathes better through a large front mounted intercooler, 3 inch thick. The exhaust is a 3 inch mandrel bent system straight off the turbo into a 4inch system after the diff. The standard turbo remains, but it benefits from being Hi Flowed and modified with a T04 compressor wheel and a 13B turbo exhaust wheel. The turbo runs 15psi using a T04 actuator and also runs a Turbosmart Adjustable Boost Controller with a preset of 20PSI( which breaks into massive wheel spin). The differential when purchased had a slight whine and was fully rebuilt with 3.9's with a tight LSD. The clutch is a Nismo brass button unit. The suspension is Pedders, which will do for now, but a Koni's adjustable upgrade is on the cards. The interior is standard with original seats, door trims and hood lining. Then topped off with assortment of gauges like water temp, oil pressure, boost, and a autometer sportcomp monster tacho with shift light( in picture old tacho featured) plus a air fuel ratio gauge. The stereo is easy listening with JVC head deck with J&L 6X9's with a couple of tweeters and amps. Future mods are(were) to include spraying the bottom have the original bottom have Asteroid Sliver, premium suspension and a heavily modified engine. Currently the car has produced 200kw at the wheels (274hp) with the car wheelspining in 4th gear at 15psi. These figures were quoted by the previous owner upon sale. Recently on the same Dyno at TAFE, on a very HOT day, 28 degrees it made 174kw at the wheels on 10PSI. The car has yet to be run down the quarter but I'm hoping for a high 12 or flat 13 with good traction. Currently the car is up in limbo, if the right money is offered, the car will be sold or it will be fully rebuilt with a tough driveline. Yeah, it did. To a guy in 666god's and my town. Now rides on Internationals and gets driven like Ms. Daisy was in the back seat.

My brother actually looked at buying this car ages ago when it was for sale on carpoint. The guy didn't want a deposit and when the loan was approved he'd gone and sold it. Bit like the experience with trying to buy a particular VLTBT1 off here too.
