Some In Progress shots and information of Rob's VL Calais Race Car - OMY08S Rob says; these pics are of the car in the first stages and there nothing special but it gives you an idea of what it looks like .. since the car was purchased i have fitted a new kirky alluminium race seat and did some metal fabrications to it to suit andra tech inspections like hinges off the door etc etc...the car is currently getting painted purple/champagne colour and the interior to suit with the tin work being matched as the exterior paint and the cage being painted the champagne colour to suit the bars...yes the car will be featured in car shows also.the parts needed are nearly 90% complete i have a 2 speed powerglide and im using the artkar converter the box has ben guareenteed to handle 7 sec passes...ive had alot of companys interested in this car and agreements for sponsership is underway which should be good,it also has an autometre dash the rear tubs are 31.14.5/15 and the diff is a full house 9inch using only the best pro lightened gear and has mark williams components...with the car being set up for race and has already run an 8.55 @160 mph with a 1.095 60ft its doing well..the wheels dont lift more than 8 inches off the ground...its no secret the car is light and with a engine that can produce 800 hp @ the wheels it will absolutley destroy the current record for the vl turbo. .our new race track in sydney will be open in sep/oct this year and you can bet my car will be there to race... no its definetly not the car above, yes i can confirm this is still going ahead and from what im told should running within a couple months!

that engine doesnt have any braided lines...

not thats not the car,that cars in melburne and only runs a low 10...its still has me stuffed why it cant run better times being what it is....all i can say is wait and see then there will be plenty of chit chat...take care. p.s theres been a change of plans all for the better i might add.
