19 year old Michael's calais turbo has come in for a bit of work over the past couple of years. He says that he has had the motor rebuilt around a year ago, and at the same time that happened, he took the opportunity to replace the factory auto with a MX7 5 speed manual. Also modified at the time was the turbo, which was replaced with a T3/T4 hi-flowed turbo. The turbo runs at 12psi, and is controlled by a XS boost controller. Fuel is fed to the engine via 660cc injectors via a Malpassi fuel regulator and fuel pressure gauge mounted in the engine (see pic). A big frount mount intercooler has been bolted up, and after the power has been produced, excess gases are fed out via a 3" exhaust system. A custom pod filter setup has also been made. A nice upgrade that has been performed is to the brakes. VT calipers are now in use, along with DBA cross drilled and slotted rotors. VT GTS 17" copies have also been fitted to the car. On the inside, a lot of money has also been spent. A JPC head unit controls things, the first being a 7" flip down TV screen. 6x9s have been fitted in the rear, and 2x 12" competition Orion subs in the boot. The interior also features tan series 2 leather interior, a Momo steering wheel, gear knob and pedals. Future plans for Michael include a full respray in Wild Violet and a T04 turbo.
