well i dont drive a ford as such- i just thrash it, company vehicle and all!
KUMEU SHOW WAS A MINTER nothing compared to summernats tho. some nice vl's and the like. als mufflers vl calais v8 is looking good- perhaps a HSVSUX vs MUFMAN at champion would be a good sight to see..........
4 and rotary nats this weekend. not attending the racing (rotarys at any speed at all dont really do it for me) however the sat show and shine should be good.

22-04-04, 09:24 GMT+10#13 it was started for classics etc.
last year most people got one, maybe two runs, because rostinbuurg and a few V8 tourers got priority, rostenburg was screaming round the streets heating up his tyres (illegal for that event) and was on the radio saying im coming in and they kept waiting for him, its turned to **** that event. its all just to keep him winning.......
are you racing in that?

31-08-04, 15:33 GMT+10#15 Hey guys, I'm in Auckland. I just brought my 1st VL Royale as a project car off trademe for $700.00. She just needed a new windscreen and 2 tyres for a WOF. For the price I paid for her, I made on the deal big time.
Anyhow, keen to meet up with any other VL owners for tips and stuff. I wanna drop a VT 5.7 V8 mated to the 6 speed Man, and then put the Calais Front and Wilky Kit on her. Any ideas if it can be done without chopping her up?
Cheers guys

Hey man that sounds great, what are you using to bond ya kit on? You don't know where I could find a complete Calais front would ya?

02-09-04, 07:21 GMT+10#18 have no idea what im gonna use to stick the kit on- leave that to later
the only difference between the calais and norm fronts is the nose cone (incl headlight covers) and grille. the guards are the same and headlights the same. so really you are only after a calais nosecone, headlight covers, elecs(if u want) and grille.
sometimes in the t&e the come up as parts or wrecked cars....

02-09-04, 17:22 GMT+10#19 On Trade me last week there was an auction for a set of brand new calais eye lids . don't know if they sold or not but you could look it up in the expired listings.
To fit the kit on you use urathane with comes in a tube and is the black stuff you fix windscreens in to place and you can get it from panel beaters. not sure on the price but my brother is a panel beater.
I am in the process of fitting a walkinshaw bottom 1/2 kit at the moment.
