Hey guys I would like to know the stock throttle body size versus the XF throttle body size please. Also Ive heard a rumour that the AU throttle body swap is once again bigger in size. Ive seen an ad for a guy that does 70mm throttle body fitted for $350.......
Yeah I have details guys The guys based in Brisbane makes them for VN V6 onwards at the moment but expressed good interest in making the throttle bodies for VL's Apparentley they are either made or biillet? Not sure his mobile kept cutting out need to ring him after new years as his buisness is on holidays at the moment. He has agents in all states as far as I know too.....
sweet as dude! that sounds awesome. you'll have to send his number my way or post it up if ya can dude, i'm sure he wouldn't mind the extra business. or, you could direct us to whereabouts you saw his ad. paper? internet?
Yeah its in the latest Parts Peddler near the back cant remember what its called exactly will find out on Mon morning and post it here (thank god for 4 days off!!!)
A larger throttle body might give you 1 fifth of **** all's difference without a new plenum. Your engine will only flow as much air as its biggest blockage will allow.
Adding a bigger Throttle body will give better response and better breathing characteristics.
You can do a lot of things on the inlet side of the vl, thus plan out exactly what you effect you want. If you want to make big power, a custom log type plenum, or nizpro might be the go, with a big throttle body. If you want the stock look, an N/A plenum with a bigger throttle body might be better for your street application once again.
Its not what you put on the engine - its how you package each part with one another. Thats where experiment comes in and money for things like a nizpro plenum - as its been developed really well and performs accordingly.
Maybe we should all get together and ask this dude if we can get a special price for a bulk order of (just the bare) 70mm throttle bodies?
If we can get maybe ten people interested it might be worthwhile.
I will put my hand up for one.
