Heya fellas, Just joined. And I just bought meself a Vl Exec about a month ago, and I wanted to extend my knowledge on em, so I was told about u guys and this site. Check her out [1 (http://members.iinet.net.au/~pav2377/DSC00267.JPG)] [2 (http://members.iinet.net.au/~pav2377/DSC00275.JPG)] [3 (http://members.iinet.net.au/~pav2377/DSC00314.JPG)] [4 (http://members.iinet.net.au/~pav2377/DSC00379.JPG)] I got her totally standard, with a brand new panel and paint job. Since then I have done a few little things like; 2 1/4 cat back exhaust, straight through muffler High flow Panel filter The dood i bought it off lowered it, tis got pro springs but i needed new rear shock, the other ones were ruff as guts, good for burnouts but i got sick and tired of feeling every bump in the road. Stezza, and few other interior mods. Now i been thinkin it over ... and i have been tossing up between a turbo, or just modding the engine. And im looking more towards Turbo, i got one the other day off a close mate for $200 (he didnt have an intercoller when he had it goin, but he did have a V8 radiator, he said the turbo ran quiet cool), me and him took it off his VL turbo (its only a small one 9psi or something he said), so its a standard one not custom. I just need to know some info from u guys, like can I bolt it straight on me engine, or do i need to mod some things, i realise i need a new chip set, but anything else can you tell me as much as possible and like pros and cons, i read a few threads, and like some guys put there turbo straight on and with no mods to the engine, this true, wont it stuff engine internals up. So yeah, as much as you can tell me it would be a BIG help anything at all. Kind regards Steve

Ur a P plater like me so the first thing i would do is ring different insurance companies to see if anyone is even going to insure you.

I mean once you have the turbo installed. Ur insurance company won't like to hear the words 17 and turbo in the same sentance. Hell i have trouble getting insurance with my VL cause its lowered, exhaust, 17 inch mags, etc but no turbo and they still don't wanna insure me had to put it through dad's name.

dragme, make sure u insure with Just Car's they are apart of AAMI but act as a sepret company i rang up RACV and they didnt want to know about any mods, so im changing to Justcars when i buy my VYSS wheels and lower ... SmokeyD, nice ride ya got there, u'll need to consider where u want to be in the future. for example how much power u want or what time u want to run down the quarter... this all is important, coz you might want a turbo but do u just want an original turbo that runs 7psi boost or would you prefer to run 22psi with a T66 ? (just examples) so you'll have to decide what you want out of ur engine then work backwards. cos theres nothing worse than spending money on something u'll WANT / NEED to upgrade the next week ...

Mate, don't bother spending a cent on your N/A. Because in a few months you will want a VL Turbo, and all the money you're spending on little mods for your N/A will go to complete waste. In my opinion, there's no use buying a VL, unless it's a Turbo.

Check out the links posted above mate, jeez. If you want your car insured you will need to convert to turbo brakes as well, there is more to this conversion to just bolting a turbo on. Do you have all the manifolds, crossover pipe etc?

trust me mate, that little bit of boost you will want to turn into a LOT! and it really isn't worth converting imo, you're best to start out with a factory turbo and start with that. but thats just me. read the thread's above and go through the forum.you'll find all the info you need and more. and good luck

Bov? Bovs are 90's my friend.. You want the flutter bro.. thats the sign of fully sickness.. Yeah in my opinion take the whole engine out and put in a RB25det or something alike.. Or buy a Decent RB30et and upgrade your trans.. get a worked auto or whatever.. But your young so i say drive the car how it is now(Looks nice) Save up some money... get used to driving and controlling cars etc.. then in the future think about maybe selling and upgrading to a VLT thats already been modded or try find a fresh stocker vlt.. And DO NOT BUY A R33 SKYLINE.. because every man and his dog has one and there just ghey.. (No offence to R33 owners) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
