why not do it all properly and engineer the thing? Yes, i know it costs, but when you get pulled up, you leave the coppers with no where to go and nothing to say. Dodgy roadworthys just extenuate the problem of dodgy cars on the roads, dishonest mechanics and people who don't trust them. Not trying to cause an argument here mate, so don't bite.

Dodgy RWC's got my XD through to sale, and then it sat there for TWO YEARS while I fixed up the dodgy crap that was supposedly "passed"..... not your beef, I know, but i HATE dogy mechanics! Up here in QLD, if they get busted supplying false docs, they are SCREWED. Means a lot of people aren't willing to work on older and modified cars in general, because to do it right costs $$$, and they know the owner doens't want to spend that much. Sucks trying to get a mech that does more that do services! Good luck

most of the time defects are cleared by the inspector just checking what was defected... you should be clear if it was just tires...

Yeah VICroads will just check the tires.. i'll be surprised if they even come close to your car, they generally just stick their heads out the door and see if the tyres look new... And yeah taxi depot's will probably give you a dodgy if you ask nicely, thats where i used to go for my old vl... but then again it helps if your dad is their main supplier P.S. i've been done a few times Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yeah if it's a minor defect (the box will be ticked on the canary), I think you just have to take it to Vic Roads and they will clear it because of your new tyres. My 2c.... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Dont get a dodgy roadworthy My sister bought a vl recently that had a dodgy roadworthy, she now has to fork out to fix all the things that are wrong with the car. The person who does the roadworthy can have their license for doing roadworthies taken off them if they are found out, not good!!! I stress DONT GET DODGY ROADWORTHIES, apart from the car being unsafe to drive it can also cause worn parts to wear more and damage other parts that might be in good condition. Werd. Can't agree more. Especially with a thing as important as tyres! You could be risking your life or someone elses! Tyres are one of the most important aspects of a car as far as safety (brakes, suspension and tyres imo).

Lessee, you've got a high performance car (RB25 DET I presume?), had the cash to do the conversion, and now you want to get a dodgy roadworthiness certificate because you want to drive on bald tyres because you don't want to buy a set of new ones? If I've got it right you are irresponsible and have a wierd set of priorities and neither you nor your car should be on the road. If you do find said dodgy inspector, I don't want to be anywhere near you if you put your foot down on a wet road. And I hope the lack of an engineer's certificate for the RB25 is not because the conversion has been done so badly that no engineer in his right mind will certify it. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
