That's great I think there ok, as a mate has one. I do seriously think they are the next vl turbo unless holden get off their asses & bring out another turbo model. Weight may hold them back, but both the VLCT & the XR6T look great. Just my 2c worth... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

For sure, look how popular they are now. Its something different, and its like a newer version of the factory aussie 6 turbo (i.e. original being vl turbo) if i had cash id splash out on one. but then again if i had enough cash, id overlook it and buy a r34 gtr. regardless, theyre a good looking car the BA's. sometimes id even rather see the turbo motor in fairmonts and fairlanes as i rather prefer the classy luxurious look. theyre exclusive to the XR though. certainly beats the donkey 3.8 that looks older than an rb30et, apart from the plastic fake rocker cover, lol

Thats a lot of power to the ground, i predict they will run a high 10 next outing. Considering the only real modifications are cooler, computer, injectors/fuel system and inlet manifold, your 11 second package could be had for less than 10k drive in drive away. For the DIYer, 6k is more than enough for an Autronic, Fuel Pump/Injectors and a custom plenum if you were to DIY. The BA weight is a disadvantage, however more power is an answer to that Just be scared of the Engine transplants the XR6T Engine will end up in...... :P Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yeah, they are still pretty new, and few owners are wealthy enough to carve one up to do serious mods. But in a few years when they have come down a long way in value, and the young guys start getting them, they will become a cult car.

from what i have read/heard the gearbox needs to be strengthened quite a bit, even to take the stock power. I think it was on here that someone was saying that his mate has one and has already replaced more than 2 boxes in the short time he has had it. I can only imagine what it would be like if holden went in with nissan again to create nother straight six turbo range.........mmmmmmm tasty. However, I dont know how well they would sell, some of the new holden body shapes don't really appeal to me that much so it might take a bit of redesigning to create a car with a similar sort of appeal to the VL (yeah not gonna happen). If anything I think they may try to whack it on the v6, nut hey i am just specualting, what do i know. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Just Imagine how much more crap we'd get from the Nissan - Ford fans if we did hook up with Nissan again - We'd be stealing ideas from nissan and copying Fords idea. Apparently. I'm not a huge fan of the shape, they look to big and bulk for me, but same with all the new commys aswell. Theres not many cars around lately that has an appealing shape. However it certainly has potential and I suspect we will be hearing alot more about them in the near future. Definately a change for the better though, get rid of these v8's for a while and get some straight six turbo action into action.

Quote: Vehicle modifications consist of Nizpros Stage One XRT300 power-up kit (custom powder coated high-flow CNC machined inlet manifold, cast alloy thermostat housing, powder coated cast alloy rocker cover, cast alloy 100mm inlet tube, K&N pod filter, cold air-box, high-flow tube and fin intercooler with lightweight aluminium end tanks, compact dry-cell Odyssey battery and battery box), along with upgraded fuel injectors, and a MoTeC M800 ECU Stock turbo charger on a BA is a 600hp GT30 guys!! If you put this turbo on a VLT, bosch 363s, Motec M800, highflow Tube and fin core intercooler plus the rest and dyno the ring hole out of it I bet you will also get the same 1\4 mile times. Quote: Nizpro had also to replace the restrictive catalytic converter (in an otherwise factory exhaust system), My ars otherwise factory exhaust system!!! I dont care much for them i rather a VLT anytime...

I think in few years when warranties run out and they become a bit more affordable to your average person, theyl be getting real quick on the street with big coolers and big boost.

I suppose you could modify a Porsche 911 transaxle to transfer the power! Would be the ultimate burnout machine and would add new meaning to the term "torque steer". Yeah stockvlt - Buy a VL Turbo for $10k, spend $10k on the engine, $10k on the rust and $10k on everything else. You'll still be scared to rev it past 3,000rpm, let alone park it anywhere except your garage. The XR6T isn't anything special; there's a lot better cars for the money.
