I use Mobile 1 in the VL and Penrite HPR 40 in my V8's that oil is like honey real thick ideal for older engines with bigger clearances.

HPR30 is a 20W-60 Grade Oil HPR40 is a 25W-70 Grade Oil HPR40 seems a bit thick for my liking, maybe in a big bore v8 or a high mileage RB30 with major blowby problems, but wouldnt be to good on cold starts. All HPR oil viscosities seem a bit dodge to me... Mobil XHP is a 20-50W Mineral Oil. Nice and cheap, but if i had a Turbo I would be trying to use atleast a Semi-Synthetic Grade for a bit more protection. Personally I usually run a 15-50 Semi Synthetic, great price and good viscosity for an older RB30 Turbo. If I had a fresh engine I would run the Full Synthetic Mobil 1 5W50 though... Mick

May i ask why a lot of you guys are using Mobil 1? Is it suited to the turbo engine or just the reputation i.e. Mark Skaife/Holden Racing Team, Peter Brock...?
