anyone done it ?

ive done it, and no its not a direct bolt up due to the passeneger side floor in the vl not sitting flat although the drivers seat can bolt straight in (you need to drill holes) but it will not sit straight, hence the easiest solution i found was to remove the vt rails and attach the vl rails to the seats. This requires some sort of bracket to be made up to accomodate the vl rails (My old man and I used some angle iron). Ill take some pics to show ya then post em up!

Also you would need to get power to the electric VT seats.....don't forget that before you bolt them in

Petros, in the first pic you can see the bracket that was made up to accomodate the VT seats, if you have seen under a VT seat with the rails off the location where the bracket bolts on is pretty straight forward.
This is the finished product
Hope this helps if not ill try and take a few more pics of the bracket.

05-12-03, 16:38 GMT+10#10 why use commo seats? there are better seats out there probably cheaper.
Some of the seats from Mazda are awesome. The ones in the new 6 would be perfect.

the GTS seats are very good (even compared to some jap/aftermarket seats)......esp for a big fella like me, as soon as I sat in em I had to have a pair

14-12-03, 22:09 GMT+10#15 I'am trying to get some VS seats in atm.
The passenger will be fine with a spacer of 15mm on the left side,so it's flat.
The drivers side is a different story, as the vl rails are off-set to hold the seat about 20mm further to the center than the vs ones. This makes the wheel over to the left abit and hurt my back after a long trip.
I'am thinking of just cuting off the whole rail setup from the vs and bolting the vl one on to it to get right off-set.
Any one else done this? Properly, not just bolted it in out of place?

17-12-03, 08:37 GMT+10#17 guys, i put VR statesman seats in my last VL.
get yourself some rails from VL s2 seats - they will bolt straight on VN-VS seats.
then when you put them in the VL, the seats will fit perfectly. mine did.
it was easy for me though, coz i had the S2 interior, my current VL has the S1 interior so i'm going to have to get the rails from S2 seats from somewhere and then buy the VS or whatever seats that i want..
