Just booked Schoolies yesterday for 2004. Booked for Top Of The Mark in the Gold Coast. 20m to Cavil ave, 100m to beach. just wondering any of you guys stayed up there. Anything to be worried about apart from staying away from people trying to start fights. Also how much money do u think u need for a week up there.

I don't think you need much money. Just take plenty of condoms and you'll be fine!

Apartment cost heaps but, $600 for 6 people. 3 people in each room. But its on the street where all the parties are going to be so hopefully it will be worth it. Mates are taking up in excess of $1000 for spending money, i'll regret it when i come back home and realise what i could have done to the VL.

Trust me u want to book soon some places are already booked out. Schoolies is officially 7 weeks the last one being the so called party week where you get discounts, etc because there trying to have people stay up until the end because it starts to die off. We booked early and got a mad place, not so in looks so much but in its location. SOme places are 2.5km away from the town centre and if u wait too long u will end up there.

Umm are u keen to go in the last week. I reconmend judging by what people i know have said not to go in the last week but during the 2nd week or so. When u go to the website click on book now and it will come up with a list of accomendation. I booked into Top Of The Mark. Just scroll down and u will see it. It sais $475 for 3 people but u have to pay a bond of $100 and travel insurance and an all ages dance club entry which is $25. How many people are going with you? BEcause the more people the cheaper it is

yea, it would probably be 6, but one of them is doing yr 12 this year so will the dance club entry be much of a problem? i also c that the first few weeks are booked out where as the last are not.

1000 bucks spending money? whaaaat!! I spent, probably, 200- 300 on alcohol, 200 on accomodation. Probably 100 on food. Spending money? 100 bucks would cover it, your not going there to go shopping haha, your going there to get absolutely blind and score some women and spend some awesome times with your mates and people that you may never see again.

i thought about it, and spoke wit few mates, and we gonna plan on something a little out of town. know some people bout 30kms downt he coast, and they can find somthing for alot less. we definately gonna drive,so i could always park in some underground carpark that would be safe, and besides, the only purpose ure place serves is to keep u occupied during the day, and somewhere to crash at night, 600 per person is just too much for me. think bout 250 accomodation for 6 or 7 nights for 5 people, maybe more if m8 drives his up, booze 300, food 50, and $2 for postcard to send to mum.

Yeh with 3 people in 1 room its $600, for 6 people in a 2 bedroom apartment its a lot cheaper but we would have had to share a bed between us so everyone paid the extra. Yeh if u drive its the way to go. I know if i drove my VL up there and parked it in cavil it would get ****ed over and having to worry about it all the time and being a designated driver i ain't that keen. Nah i'll problery need $1000 going to go skydiving again with one of my mates. Jump 15000ft which last time cost me nearly $400. The dance club entry i don't reckon will be that good. Be good for the person underage but u'll problery end up in all the clubs or on the beach where they reported in the Mercury that 20 000 people party on the beach Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

well i just got back from schoolies yesterday 1) dont be soft.. go teh first week its ****ign awesome... the media are bull****.. i saw them working with actors to film the things tehy want to make it look bad... 2) mates.. pfft... u will all go ur separate ways most of hte time.. i spent a fair few nights wandering round cavill on my own.. u meet new people and have a ****ing awesome time 3) it is not the ****fest it is made out to be.. i got with 5 chicks but didnt get a root from any of them.. and i spoke to a hell of a lot of chicks about it and they are like "most girls arent about to go **** some guy they dont know" sure tehre are a hell of a lot of randy chicks there but they arent all for sex 4) moneywise my accomodation was 350 + 100 bond which i will hopefully get back, i spent $60 on food for the week and have leftover stuff (the food includes softdrink to mix spirits with) i spent 150 on alco which was 1x Johnny Walker, 1x Jack Danials, 1x Jim Beam, 1x Smirnoff Vodka, 1x Southern Comfort and 4 cans of Smirnoff Ice that was exactly the right amount of alcohol for the week for me, and i was battling the flu all week and had a night off on wednesday where i just slept, didnt leave the unit or drink 5) You will find ur building will more than likely have underground parking so driving up is not an issue, i drove down, only touched my car once when i had to drive a mate to the hospital during the day. IF u can find a parking spot u wouldnt really need to worry... its not as bad as it seems... there are cars parked EVERYWHERE and none even get touched (from what i saw) Unless ur VL is outstanding (im talking bloody top of the line Calais Turbo) then u dont need to worry... it will blend in with every other average VL with mags and exhaust up there thats about it for now until i think of more... but really tehre is no option but to go the first week.. u will regret any other choice

Oh oh another thing 6) whever u stay will be where the most of the parties u go to will be at. u will meet pretty much everyone in ur building and once u realise u arent allowed visitors after 6 or 7pm ull realise that the only way to have a realyl good time is to chill with the people in ur building cavill is fun but the chicks are afraid of being raped (generally) so walking up and talking to them u only get so far before their fat friends drag them away... the building u stay in is the place to pickup

k cool thanks for writting all that. So is the fights and stabbings that you hear about is a rare thing? And there arn't fights around every corner u come to? The news every night i watch it go on about it so i'm just wondering if this is all bull****. The place i'm staying at under the conditions ur allowed 2 visitors after 8pm which is pretty good condsidering. I read in the papers that the beach parties are mad. What did u reckon was better the clubs or the beach parties? I'm sure the second week will still be ****ing awsome, apparently it dies off in the last couple of weeks so it should still be good.

i went to schoolies last year (02) and i wanna go again next year (04) stayed at sun city resort (5 star) 400m from cavil, beach across the road, liquor store and supermarket across the road, and most importantly a gym! paid 600 each for accomodation (there was 6 of us) spend 250 on food and alch on average. do a kitty for food, left overs went to alch, drank 9 slabs between me and one of the other guys, best holiday ever.

i just checked the site, all 5 star places are taken off. thats *****ed! schoolies will never be the same!

Me and my mates were keen to stay at the Morrocan but as u say its not on the schoolies website and they don't do a special package so it cost heaps. But that place has class. I'm staying at a 3 star which shouldn't be too bad i hope. I saw sun city in a travel brocure a chick was showing me at school. That looks mad, how was the walk every night when u were pissed but? Also did u fly up and if so how much did it cost you?

Ok i went to schoolies last year, and i had a mad time. I personally would go in the first week, thats the week I went, and it was pretty sweet i must say. Yes there are the occasional fights and ****, during the week i was down there, 1 korean retard fell off the balcony of a highrise and died (i guess thats wat happens when u sit on the railing) some people are just thick, and it spoils it for others. There was also a stabbing, and one nite just as we were leaving cavill to go back to our appartment, some dude got his head smashed through a glass window thing at a little pizza shop hehe !! From my own persoanl experience, the schoolies are just there to have fun, its the older people who cant handle their alcohol that try and cause the trouble. Stick with ur mates and use common sence and u wont have any trouble. Walk around looking like a hard nut, eyeing off every other hard nut u see around, and u'll start something. I stayed at a place called the 'Biaritz' on Broad beach. It was about 30 metres walk to the beach, and 1.5k's to cavill. Had everything anyone could want, our room was like nice and high (beach view, mountain view on the other side, indoor/outdoor pool, aircon, everything. which really wasnt that bad. Tank up before u walk anywhere, and with the amount of talkin, and saying hi to skimpy bitches u'll be doin, u get there in no time. Aneema is pretty spot on about the party idea. When we arrived at out building it was like packed out to the max. We got room 69 and so automatically we were the ****' hahahah !!!! j/k. knew most of the people staying in our building, and we had parties in our room on a few nites, hang with these chiks on the same level as us during the day and stuff. If we werent in cavill on the beach or chilling, we were having parties in our room and gettin wasted. Security was also good at our place, on numerous occasions we got people in by being nice to security. some other mates even stayed a few nites too (cause their place sucked ass) U find out about parties from the people closest to you (ie in ur building) but we were usually the ones who had parties, so they found out from us) All up we had 5 official people in our room at $411 bucks each. 100 bucks bond back even tho we smashed the glass cofee table accidentally - we drove into burleigh and went to a glass shop and bought some new glass, cost 50 bucks, and managment were very happy . We ran out of alcohol on tuesday -4th day and then we had to buy lots more. So all up i think i spent about 250 bucks max on top of accomodation.. which is pretty sweet. All u really need to buy is, food and alcohol. I drove down also (from brissy) no big deal but i wanted to be able to get around. Car was mostly convenient for * gettin alcohol. * getting food (when too lazy to walk) during the day. * driving to industrial part of burleigh to find a glass factory *picking a mates g/f up from Robina station. Dont drive if you dont feel upto it. I refused to drive on a number of occasions because i felt sus and it aint worth losing ur licence. Car was like a last resort if no one could be bothered walkin, but it did come in handy for times when we were all sober, and bored. anyway i talk way too much about this ****. so yeah. schoolies is good as, the media is a crock. Yeh just spoke to my mates and yeh driving up would be mad but there are 6 of us which would mean 2 cars, i'm the only one keen to drive but there ain't much point when where so close to everything. So i guess just got to hope not to get bored during the day, always the beach i guess and u'll be waking up late. I can't wait but, whole year is keen noone works anymore lol.
