Just listening to the radio whilst driving and i heard a bit of an announcement that states from DEC 1st, Victoria P Platers have changed (read STRICTER) rules, some being: * Fine AND 3 points for not displaying P plates * Accumulate 5 points in 6 months and you loose your licence Any other Restrictions/Penalties or websites relating to? Thanks. Victoria - The POLICE State Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

well that not so bad, just display ur damn P plates and don't ****in speed! easy, my P plates are always up, they are now pink because they are faded. I mean why wouldn't you have em up? And each time I think about speeding I just think about the wasted money that could be spend on perfomance/looks if you get caught. But we don't ned more rules and penalties in this revinue raising state!

But we don't ned more rules and penalties in this revinue raising state! I never have mine up. Never have. And guess what... i've never been pulled over. I had them up when i first got my plastic, and got pulled over a number of times for nothing. Since having them down. I've never been looked at once (in over 12 months) The fine was only $100... so it's worth it over the weekly hassle if you ask me. But now it's gone to losing points too, that is just wrong. And they probably changed the law... as they cant make money out of speed camera's, so they are going to open any other flood gate they can to bring home the cash-cow.

Half the reason for displaying them is to let the other drivers know so we can keep well clear of the inexperienced drivers that are supposed to wearing P plates. I see too many P platers doing flick type multi lane changes and showing off

I *never* wore my Ps in the capri old car, so easily defectable, WTF would I risk it? Like that for a lot of people. It'd rather run copping a 100 buck fine than the added attention Ps garner ya

I couldn't give a ****. I once would spend money on my car, which has never hurt anyone. But now I'm heading into corruption, as having a nice car is simply too risky. I don't care anymore. There's no point in being a nice person. I'll just fill the streets with drugs instead.

haha.. come to the "sunshine state" and drive around with no plates at all I honestly dont see wat a little plate is supposed to represent anyway...pretty gay really. I've seen alot of 'elder citizens' who like to do 70kph in 100 zones and who love to do 70 in 50 and 60 zones I dont think it would be unfair to make people over the age of 60 wear 'H' plates - HAZARD ! I feel sorry for all u P plate wearing homies !! unlucky ! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

It's safer to deal illicit drugs, then to drive a car that's 75mm's off the ground - 2.5cm's below legal. I heard on the news that a Police Commissioner for Victoria was actually saying that the funding the Victoria Police isn't good enough. The Police Commissioner also believes the government is treating the Police Force as a business, rather then a community service - "Serve and Protect" rather then "Serve and Create Revenue".

Thanks. Victoria - The POLICE State Special Laws for probationary drivers Zero Blood Alcohol Limit You must not have alcohol in your blood when driving. Licence suspensions There are a number of common offences, such as speeding, failing to give way, careless driving etc which will result in the suspension of your licence but would not suspend a full licence holder. In addition, your licence will be suspended for: failing to display the correct P plates or not displaying P plates at all. fraudulently altering a driver licence. lending your driver licence or using a licence that is not your own. These offences will lead to the extension of your probationary period and may result in a passenger restriction being imposed. Extension of probationary period If you commit a traffic offence, which results in the suspension of your licence by a court or Traffic Infringement Notice, your probationary period will be extended by the length of the suspension plus six months. Passenger restrictions If you commit a traffic offence, in the first year of your probationary period, which suspends your driver licence, a passenger restriction will be imposed. When you get your licence back after your suspension, you will be restricted to carrying no more than one passenger for 12 months. Driving safely Probationary drivers are twice as likely to be involved in a crash in which people are injured than a fully licensed driver. To reduce the chances of a crash happening to you, probationary restrictions exist to penalise high crash risk drivers whilst allowing other drivers to gain valuable driving experience under the safest possible conditions. What you can do to reduce your crash risk Research has shown that the following major factors contribute to crashes involving probationary drivers: Over-confidence Speeding Drink driving Not anticipating hazards Inexperience The good news is that most new drivers quickly learn the skills necessary to control a vehicle under normal circumstances. There are other skills which take longer to develop, such as anticipating what other road users are doing or about to do. New drivers often do not see and understand the actions of other road users and fail to adjust their driving behaviour to suit the conditions or potential hazards ahead. I've already fallen into the "special fines" bull**** criteria. Lost my license for 6 months, when I got it back I had a new condition (only 1 passenger in the car for 12 months) and I had my P's extended for 6 months plus the length of my license loss (all up 1 year). I dont regularly have my P's up in my mum's car but always in my car. I mean there's no reason you shouldnt have them up unless you dont own your own car or your family is too pov to have their own cars (if you cant afford your own car you shouldnt really be reading a "performance" forum imo). Oh well, I havent been caught yet and I dont get any of the bull**** all you guys get for having a VLT on my P's. Maybe you guys all drive like tools or something? (I realise the irony of saying that after I've just said I've lost my license in the past). Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
