They get u going past unknowingly i'm sure. Most speed cameras get u going past, if they dont, i doubt they can use a flash, because the last thing u want is to be driving a long, and a massive flash blinds u and then u crash into the ****ing operator. I got snapped in QLD, and it was a front shot, i didnt see a flash, it was a nice sunny 30degree day though... no need for one. I was doing 92 in a 60, $180, and 4 points.

Sorry to hear bro... I got done by one of these cameras a while back, as I past one in the oncoming direction. I was shifting from second gear at about 5'500rpm into drive with wheelspin & I got done for 94 in a 60 zone. It was funny as the photo I saw of it, looked like I was just coming out of the side street, but I wasn't... I wanted to get a photo, but the idiot at the camera office wouldn't let me have one as he knew why I wanted it... Yeah, I was gonna frame that pic... Oh well... Anyway all my work mates said, "dude you can only get booked from going past it, not oncoming", but 3 weeeks later, a ****ing fine arrives in the mail. My distance was a good 200metres, if that helps. Cheers Mick Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I dunno what system they use there but in the ACT the big speed/red light cameras only get you from behind, but we have a fair few speedcamera Vans! and they get coming & going! And DO flash oncoming traffic at night..

The term is 'approaching or receding speed' In NSW Some fixed speed cameras get both approaching and receding speeds, depends on location. Camera cars can do both but depends again on location.

thanks for your replies guys ive done some research on these cameras - and they can only get you 40 - 50 metres away in any direction, if you were at the top of 2nd doing 95 in a 60 hopefully I can get away with a little bit less clicking from first to second and a bit - for a 50 zone, good luck petros -

Speeding Supsensions 25 - 34km, 1 month + big fine. 35 - 44km = 6 months + bigger fine. 45+ km/h = 12 months + HUGE fine + about 8 points.

Petros, You might be able to get away with it. I posted an article about a week ago about all speed camera's in melbourne being turned of because they were faulty. There is still hope!

Here is a paragraph from the article, "Those who have lost their licence or paid fines will get them back if new testing proves they were booked for false readings as far back as May this year. Demerit points acquired through these cameras will be cancelled."

i duno br0 this infa red donger was mounted on a creame colored magna wagon - me thinks i got it in the bum. I know its my own doing, but the problem is my speedo is not hooked up - have been having domestics with tranny guy for 3 weeks telling him to hook it up - he wouldnt let me do it as it could "void" warrantee or some crap - been ringing and ringing and ringing, been getting excuse after excuse, phone not answered, sms saying he will call back later, and now look. but in a way it is the bed i made so i have to lie in it
