Well, it's been a while - but heaps has changed!
For example, ANOTHER engine rebuild has happened, and with more mods. 603HP (450Kw) & 621Nm of torque on 26PSI boost pump fuel & 7000rpm. Roll cage is now in too.
All the latest news, pictures & videos can be found on the website: www.700hp.myip.org (http://www.700hp.myip.org) - if anyones interested.
Plus, pictures of all the tricks I've added to the new engine - plenum changes, head mods, coolant-flow mods, extended studs in the block - you name it, it's all there! Even the latest Autronic CAL files too!
Cheers,
Brett
This isn't a proper dyno graph, it's the data capture displayed graphically from the Autronic dyno-monitor software - so the slope of the graph when compared to RPM doesn't accurately depict the power delivery characteristics of the engine - but the power figure is real:

how much do those nizpro plenum's cost??
are they hard to fit?? how much u rekon a workshop would charge to fit one?

Not sure if you can buy them anymore - someone told me that Nizpro have stopped making them as the market has pretty much dried up due to everyone trying alternate plenums.
...but to answer your questions - the Nizpro plenum cost me around $1800 two years ago. It's easy to fit the plenum itself - a couple of hours work - the real difficulty is fitting the intercooler that they are designed to suit.

ahh cool thanks..ill hafta find out whether i can still get 1 !!
another question...i notice many ppl with 10sec/powerfull vl's still keep stock plenum... how much of a difference(or power) does an aftermarket plenum make?? such as ur nizpro one here or a custom one in comparison ??
thanx

01-12-03, 23:13 GMT+10#13 Hey very nice work! It's great to see you're not keeping any specs to yourself
Just wondering what model gtr your oil pump is from and if u have any pics of it (couldn't find any on your site)?
And if you could detail the oil squirter setup any further, squirter size? pic's of squirters/locations??
I'm in the process of building a race engine, wont be anywhere near as good as yours though, good stuff!
Cheers.

05-12-03, 23:12 GMT+10#15 Well said. Can't wait to see it on the road myself.
...but tell me "cmeboost": what do you mean "not enough action?" I've been working on this thing solid for the last 18 months, with plenty of expense + effort + planning - and some folks here are actually interested in the technical value of this project. There's been action for sure - but I'm sorry if this thread bores you (or anyone else).
I've paid my membership fee here, so I hope I've earned my right to post facts about my VL Turbo - which is what this site is for anyway. When are you paying for your right to do the same? Or are you just gonna freeload?
If all there was to cars was track times, I'd find the hobby very boring. I accept that you may believe a cars quality to be soley measured on a track timeslip, but for me, that's empty and not a true measure of a car.
I'm building a car I can drive on the road, and with heaps of show & technical merit.
What's your ride?

exactly what i was gonna say, 'cmeboost' u need to realise that projects like this do not take 5 minutes, but 5 years or longer,
it sh!ts me when someone cannot see that there has to be alot of time and effort put into a project before it is complete, even if it does take forever to finish
patients is a vertue

07-12-03, 23:28 GMT+10#18 Thanks for the support guys.
BTW: Engine is now in the engine bay, gearbox bolted up, as is the exhaust system. Got some clearance problems between the new harmonic and the radiator & intercooler: not enough room for a decent cooling fan.
Might have to put two small thermo's on, plus one huge thermo in front of the air-con condensor to blow the air through, plus maybe some kind of venting in the bonnet or guards.
...will keep you all posted.
