I just bought a VLT, and i pick it up in exactly 62 minutes.... It's stock, and i'm wondering about Cold Air Induction. I put it on my NA with no probs, i cut a 90mm hole in the air box and guard, and put two 45degree bends and cut pipe to length to ensure that i'd get forced cold air from the bumper as i'm driving along. I was a little worried about water with the NA but not too concerned. I retained the original air box and installed a K&N Panel filter in it. Instant Gain. I want to do the same thing to the turbo, however i'm concerned about water, the last thing i want is to be attempting to compress water inside my precious turbo. What do u guys think on this issue, should i just stick a pod filter on it and not worry about the CAI side of it, or should i do what i did to my NA and modify it slightly to reduce the risk of water induction. Only 57mins until i pick it up! woot!

You'll be fine, Its just the same as water injection, it evaporates prior to being compressed, and will just cool the intake charge. That being said you need have a real **** filter for any water to get through it. The only way you will kill your turbo/motor is if you drive through a HUGE puddle or do a river crossing, then and only then will it gulp up a mouthful.

hope you have done central locking in a vl before, it can take a while to get it all working smoothly

yep my central took all up 5 hrs... 1 hr at the start and it ***s up all the time, after lots of fiddle its sweet now.. just on the rear doors cut the control arm only like 4 cms, otherwise the metal that holds the door from swinging way open will crush the modulater when u close the door (i did it ) and on the front drivers door, run the wires outside the metal (in between the door itself and its cover) becasue the window can grab the wires and pull them out when u wind the window dowm, its the same on the other side but smaller chanve cuz theres only 2 wires hence it being thinner and harder 2 grab! Also b sure 2 use a good earth and power! i just hardwired mine 2 the battery cuz i cbf'd testing any wires! cheers Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Jazza: I have a VL N/A with central locking, so that will be my template Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

um its hard 2 explain what it is... when u cut the whole throu the metal of the car and sit the pipe in it the flange holds it in place... its a 100ml circle with a lip so it stops the pipe from falling down, its the easiest way to secure the pipe...
