Hiyas, I'm building ground up a VLT engine to slot into my 86 VL and am after some advice. I got a hold of a 980x580x100 ex. end tanks cooler off a Louisville ford truck and it needs to be cut down, just after the biggest size I could go with I was thinking along the lines of 750x450x100 ex end tanks?? Also I need to get a hold of some brand new SPR low comp 88mm pistons, (I heard JPC use them) Any idea where I can get some or info on other forged pistons? We're currently doing a ground up rebuild on the motor. Deck block, hone, bored, line tunnel, hardened steel crank(reground), forged steel rods, acr duraglide bearings, port/polish, headwork, stg2 crow cam, h/d crow springs, machine lifters ect ect. The guy I bought the block off also sold me a custom turbo plenum that was reangled towards the batt. (needless to say the batt. will be relocated to the boot) with a XF throttle body mounted on. Did anyone see the ad. in the trading post this week??? Also after the engine is completed it will be taken to PET for the turbo work which includes - T3/T4 hiflow turbo (brandnew) -custom truck cooler -lt8 microtech comp -hi flow fuel pump -full exhaust sys 3in. with hiflow cat Is there anythin I should know with building up the rb30et?? I havn't done it b4, but my dads a mechanic and convinced me to do the bottom end. Thoughts? ? ? ps. answer the cooler question cause I'm getting it done weds. Thanks guys !!!
