When my car's on *almost* closed throttle it surges badly - but it's not a mixture problem. see i can't putt along at 1800 rpm in 3rd gear without it surging.... Any ideas?

fuel filter is new, so are both pumps.... i think it started as soon as i put my avo stage II on... maybe it's the positioning of my map sensor, (plugged into the nozle on the plenum just above cly 4 or 5 that normally goes to the charcoal cannister). I'll try moving that and see what happens.
