Well people its been a while since i've had anything to say, but i thought i might just come back to piss off those FORD boys.
Been doing alota reading on the new VY sII and BA's. Time and time again FORD has done nothing but try to beat our beloved holdens. This year has been no exception in the recent MOTOR or WHEELS mag (dun remember which one) there was the almighty test of strength between our CLUBBY R8 (sexy) and the oppositions FPV GT , ofcourse the R8 come out on top in almost every area.
This article has left me with but 1 thing to say "GO HOME FORD, GO HOME" .
Holden can never be beat. Style, class and performance that's how i describe holden.
FORD? hahahahaha. Suck ****.

you found one article giving props to holden...every other article written this year has said that holden is playing catch up. this is a good thing though, holden was starting to get complacent. now they are back on the drawing boards trying to improve the cars we all love, I thank you for this mr ford.
p.s. wait till the rumoured v6 with twin turbo option arrives

V6 twin turbo?
What about Holden's VE engines (caddilac engines) puttin out 190kW which will be in every holden V6?
I'm a simple man, i love my holdens and **** on fords.
I can appreciate FORD's ATTEMPTS to out do holden but they're in vain. We all here know that Holden can't be beaten at this game which it has dominated for the past 2 decades.
God Bless Holden.

haha "can't be beaten" that's a good one!
holden's philosophy: "Uh oh Mac, Ford has brought out an engine that has smaller capacity than ours, less cylinders and is MORE POWERFUL! WHAT WILL WE DO?"
"oh that's okay mate, we'll just make our V8's bigger, whack an extra litre in there somewhere and she'll be right."
in a few years, if holden doesn't come to their senses and
a) get rid of their crappy pushrod engines,
b) use decent technology to improve performance, rather than just displacement
then they'll have some serious issues, as nobody will want a 16 litre V8 with 540 kW..... why not just buy a tractor and swap engines?

I believe that Holden deffinetly has some up their sleeve, FORD "sympathisers" *cough* and FORD fans and not to mention FORD themselves won't know what hit 'em.
The amount of concept cars that Holden has been producing in the past 1 or 2 years which alot of them almost made it to the Dealerships floor has given me indications that holden has many more ideas than they're letting go public.
FORD deffinetly has made up good ground with they're BA (they ****ing needed it after that **** thing they called the AU) but the game is far from their's.
People will disagree, FINE. Im stating my opinion though.

30-10-03, 19:36 GMT+10#12 I have been in a HSV a few years ago and it was only a V6,but it went like hell an had a top speed of over 220 KPH.
I believe these new BA's are just a fad which will fade out in time as the Ford engineering in this country has no substance really like Holden who who have invested like over $400,000,000 in this new V6 motor in a new plant at Fishermans bend and all of the R & D into the motor, new things (for Holden) such as variable valve lift which has it over VVT and an all alloy motor which is lighter, more powerful & fuel efficient.
I don't think Holden is playing catch up if their export motors have been good enough to put into Alfas and SAABS,you can't compare the design of the half baked Ford engine which wears a twin cam VVT head but is still a long stroking dog of a motor down below,I don't know when Ford are going to wake up and be like any manufacturer with some sense and make an engine which revs out nicely,is good on fuel and will also be quick instead of trying to put out higher power figures which really mean nothing.

30-10-03, 20:12 GMT+10#13 so the gen III V8's are good on fuel hey? i think the Xr6T has a lot more potential in it than the holden V8's, just recently there were a number of threads with people making in excess of 350kW at the wheels with just upped boost and tuning. i would call that an engine with a fair bit of potential!
i agree though, the new holdens do look a lot better on the road, FORD has no styling prowess at all, their cars all look like ass.

Ummm......I do!
My beliefs are that the XR6T has set a new benchmark and is really sticking it to Holden....and good on 'em! Nothing like a bit of healthy competition! Also saw a BA GTP at a shopping centre 2day - now they are a bit of alright.

The Next VLCT? I think thats a new discussion in itself. i believe it could be true, we'll just see if the XR6T engines can last aslong as the rb30, i guess same goes for Astra Turbo they have potential to become some what a ricey car.

ahh glad to see you're warming to Fords in some way
The XR6T is yet to prove the test of time, but there are already positive signs that a future cult classic from Ford is looming, with extreme mods and endurance runs already done.. Nizpro have already achieved 11.7 secs with a virtually stock bottom end.. Very early days, but a good sign for Ford

31-10-03, 15:01 GMT+10#19 LoL far from it...
Its only natural that it become the next VLCT of the future, its an australian made Turbo with potential (in some peoples eyes). Not to say that i'd enjoy seeing so many of them around the streets, only place i'd liek to see them is at wreckers.

31-10-03, 15:58 GMT+10#20 Ford could bring out the fastest car in the world and I would still hate them.....
I still remember the aols GTR XU1 against the GTHO Phase 3....
Infact the GTHO Phase 3 and the E49 charger bath had the same 1/4 time 14.9......
The GTHO was the only clam to fame for Ford....
Look at there sales over the past 7-9 years...
sorry I'm a one eyed Holden man.....always will be....
and yes when I was 18-19 we used to have the same arguments...
