OK, now that I've got your attention... who's keen for the fourth instalment? I had earlier mentioned in #3 that we should hold one towards November some time, but a weekend in December - just before the nats - might work out better as it gives us a bit more extra time. Gimme some suggestions ppl! Thx, John

hmmm could be trouble. My car will be getting stripped soon to be painted, and since alot will be done ourselves, could take a while. JET-88C is currently in pieces, awaiting the box and is prolly only a slim chance of making Summernats.

****, whats going on? What I was thinking of doing actually is setting up a VL area at the Nats, not a stand or anything like that. Simply an area by the back of the show ground where all the VL turbos and others will park the cars. I'll try and print a large banner for the actual place and hang it up for the three days that we are there. That way people will know were to look for the area.

Anyways, I was thinking of combining the VL Cruise 4 with a Canberra cruise night which will involve all the summernats vl entrants. This would actually make it a national vl cruise event... depending on how many interstate entrants with VLs there is . On the Friday night of the event, getting a group of our cars and simply cruising down Civic is a thought. This way we will only have to make it to one event. The only requirement is for your car to be in Canberra that Summernats weekend (Jan 8-11). Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

you could make the Summernats weekend VL Curise #5 and still have #4 in mid-late November! How bout a trip to Canberra! just to sus the place out! say - A Trial run! If not, then something in Sydney.. cos id be keen to meet up with all you guys before the nats! (just throwing suggestions into the wind!) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i think one cruise is better, and uni exams finish on 21st november, so that would be better for me if its late november. I will be going down to the summernats that weekend but not entering, so i wont be able to get my car into the show ground. Cruise down there sounds great although i wasnt planning on staying overnight. Could be tricky depending on mates wanting to book a room down there. HMMMMMM

Its good to see some opinions on dates for the cruise. The alternative route is to go through kuringai national park and end up in palm beach. It'll have to be after Xmas to January. Reason being that it gives people more time to organise themselves, is after the Xmas crazy period and is close to nats time, so cars are usually prepped up for those weeks leading into the nats. I've learnt from the previous drives that the more time given to the date, it allows for bigger and better turnouts on the day. Anyways, keep the suggestions coming!

i don't want to spend another $10000 to get it the way i want, ie circuit racer. roll cage, seam wleded, stripped interior, decent dash, huge brakes and wheels etc.

The further the date is away the better chance i will have of having my car there... At this current moment, judging by this thread it seems alot of VL's are off the road getting minor/major repairs or upgrades.... The day won't be as good if the higher profile cars aren't there. Mick
