ok, my mates gettin subs put in his vp this week, and we were talkin bout which system would go harder for bass. He's gettin 2x12" orion subs powered by an orion amp, im not sure bout the specs on the amp, probly about 4x75 rms? and my VL ive got an MTX thunder 4202 amp, 2x 150 rms powering an MTX Thunder 4000 series 15" sub. what do you's think?

u cant really say which has more bass without considering many variables first.... 1. are they boxed or not (free air) 2. if boxed what are the box dimensions 3. what sort of power do they handle 4. what sort of power are you gonna be running through them (eg amps rms?) although at first glance, all variable kept isolated, a 15 ich sub delivers lower bass than 2 12's even thoughg the overall power of the combined subs may be more than the actual power running throughg the 15. i personally prefer the 2x12 setup as i believe it has a punchier bass and it suits the type of music i listen to, but then again what you have to decide on is whether u want to hear the bass or or u want the people in the next street to. it all comes down to quality of sound and whether or not u prefer quality over lower bass, also think about the type of music your playing as it has a lot to do with makin the decision on the setup. thats my 2c goodluck

COP.KLR is right but i would prefer 2 12's as a 15 would make a VL rattle far too much unless u body deaden everything inside the boot and make sure the centre garnish between the tailights is tight as ****. also the fuel tank might have to be taken out to put rubber beneath the boot floor and tank, otherwise it will sound ****house. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

one fifteen will sound excellent, only mainly for long deep bass like you hear in rap or alternate, where as two twelves will sound good for all types of music, from rap to hardcore to dance to rock, whatever your preference. good luck.

yer well the dude my mates gettin his subs an amp off is currently runnin the system in his vt. it cranks hard in that but hes got like a 1800 dollar alpine head unit and 400 dollar mirell (?) splits. anyway, i want my stereo to be better cause my mate thinks his VP is the ****, lol nah. cop.klr is rite about the different levels of bass cause i did have a 12", but with the 15" its much deeper bass, not as loud, but it travels way further. and yea, rattles this **** outta the car Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

2x15's :O, that will test the old vl out for sure. 1x 15 is plenty bass if u ask me, any way i think theres like a sheet of **** u can buy its sposed to sound deaden, and theres also a spray i think, but anyway sealing the frame to the boot lid with silicone or somethin is sposed to help, and stuff rags in behind the middle part between the taillights
