Spacers are the way to go, don't cut into it much, it's pretty easy. jump in the boot and there's like 3 little things to bend to get the covers off, then you'll probably need to cut a little bit out of the parcel shelf to get the screws for the original spear off, then just throw in some spacers.

dont cut you parcel shelf, just take it out and you can pull the old one out...
you have to take your seats first though
