Anyone tried these? Just found a pair in the garage that I may be able to use .. theyr 90/100w, so obviously the relay wiring would need to be done .. Anyone know if the headlight casings will stand up to the extra heat? They much brighter? Anyone used this particular brand before, and if so, any good or bad comments? I believe these are not the "blue" tine type bulbs (i think those are the Philips Blue Vision" ..)

I had that wattage, but the wiring was thin as, ended up heating up in the end and the bulb had to be smashed to get it out. But from what i've been told if you upgrade the wiring to something that can handle the extra current required for the lights then they shalln't heat up as much *i think* probably way off.

Well, i know you will melt fuse rails if you use higher wattages, as the wiring just isnt able to handle it .. I've got no problems doing the mods .. Should be pretty simple .. Just hope I dont melt the reflects or something I'll let you all know how they go .. my headlights at the moment are SHOCKING! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yeah, I feel your paint, at one stage my high beam was lower then a mates low beam. Not to mention they were that dull I couldn't even align them. So I'd had enough, took it to an auto electrician while I was at work, two new headlights, some voltage drops fixed, and some bigger wiring, new relays.. Daylight was mine Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

We sell Phillips Crystal Visions at work. Heres teh run down THey are a 60/55W Globe BUT put out an equivalent to 130/120W without any additional current draw. They put out 4300K. To put into perspective how bright this is, daylight is 6000K They are a very very white lightwith a tinge of blue, whereas most standard globes are that yellow crappy light YUKK! So yes they do work, yes they are hell bright BUT they are very expensive and are NOT ADR approved yet....

Have you thought about the 'Phillips PLUS 50'. They are ADR approved and from what I was told by the Phillips rep. the 60/55W globe is equilavent to ~100W, dceptv would be able to confirm this. I am about to try the PLUS 50's in my car as I have recently replaced the lights as they were rooted, someone before I bought the car had put 100W in melted the fusebox, and the light itself along with damaging all the reflector.

i have philips blue visions for my high beam, very nice lights, so much better than the standard, and much brighter, worth the cash.

what mods are needed for the beefier bulbs? i have circuit breakers for the lights after it melted the fuse rail (MikeM fuse rail in there anyway now) so what else would i need to do? keep in mind i know **** all Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

you dont need any mods if you use the 55/60w globes, my blue visions are 55/60 and i didnt need any mods, but if its 90/100 then you need a new relay.

Hrm .. so theyr good, but not ADR approved .. what does that mean in terms of using them .. I can get them for free if I want them .. tis good news about being lower power but bright .. Are they likly to get me pulled over if I just use em anyway? On closer inspection i notice on the box it says "for offroad use only" .. I'd love something good .. and I was wondering if perhaps I kept my existing globes spare somewhere for RWC's and the like, and used the crystal's, given theyr free .. would I be likely to get away with it? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

gday slick.... with those Phillips 50 Plus id be more inclined to say they are equiv to the 100/90W range. With the Blue Vision set you get a set including the park globes which is a good buy. A good point in these globes is that 1. They are ADR Approved 2. They are a lot cheaper than the Crystal Visions 3. They are 4000K (just 300K off the Crystal Visions at half the price!!!!) ALso to note, these globes will not ruin any fuses etc or burn wires etc as they ONLY Draw 60/55W which is your standard wattage globe.. so dr00 no need to beef up anything else. Just get the good globes. Hope this helps ppl out Regards Arie

Yes i can confirm all of this as i also sell the Philips range at work. They are an exceptional range including: Plus 50 (50% brighter than standard 60/55w bulbs and also burn at a whiter shade of yellow, still yellow however) Blue Vision (still a 60/55W bulb but are actually rated at 110/100W. These are a white light with a zenon gas constituent instead of standard halogen and have a stronger glass lens around them) Crystal vision (intensive white light, but not ADR approved. In my opinion not really worth the money, around $98 for H4, as there not hugely different to Blue Vision) Newest are Diamont Vision (Unbelievable white light. Its a serious buld but costs around $145!! and not ADR approved). But perhaps you could use the brighter non-ADR approved stuff as high beems and chuck in Plus 50's or Blue vision's as low beams, if you use 2 bulbs. Anyways i use Blue Visions and their sweet. Take it easy.....
