Was driving around the other night then all of a sudden my TV power was lost, then my dash lights went really dim, so I started to head home so I didn't get stuck on the side of the road, then I notice my amps guage was reading 0. Go to turn in my drivway and everything all of a sudden comes back up again. Came home last night car wouldn't start, no power to start it, jumped it and it would keep running, like it's not charging, checked all the wiring to the battery and alternator, it seems all fine nothing loose. I think my alternator needs replacing, is this right?, battery should be fine its not even old. Help would be great Thanks

get the battery check with a hydrometer, and if it's fine, then it's probably the alternator. Get a auto electrician to look at it.

OVL087 is true, if you can jump it and it runs it wont be your alt, but it could have a bad reg and be overcharging your battery, that will cause it to drop a cell, then it will be fcuked!!!!!!
