Hey guys a quick question,
Has anyone got or know of some one who has a Fibremaster Calais front end set up on their commodore?? im going this weekend to order a set, but it would be good to see/ know what they're like before hand. I know they do very good work.
And theyre cheaper and lighter which is all good weight reduction for me lightens the car and hopefully weighs down my wallet.
any help would be appreciated
thanks
Matt

How does it look? can you tell the difference between the fibreglass and the original besides the front not lifting......
or can you spot it as soon as you pop the bonnett???

$380 from Fibremaster buddy, I was going to get some made up and sell them for $300 but things have been put on hold for awhile as my friend has landed a huge ski boat contract and sadly 10-15k ski boats have been put before my calais front project.
Besides $380 is quite reasonable, Ive seen fibremasters ones and they are very straight with a quality finish, they also fit nicely.

Who is it? I'm interested in 'glass panels for my VL but down here it's only spoilers etc. Looking for 'glass bonnet and boot, prices, availability etc.
Anyone know of any other suppliers of such panels?

24-08-03, 03:52 GMT+10#11 just so you know that if you some how fit a fibre glass front end to your vl you do realise your car is not street legal anymore, plus you need to get head lights and grill air brushed on the glass front end....bonnets are around $300.complete front end including guards id say you would have change from $800,cheapest performance is weight loss....good luck,pm me if you require more info.

24-08-03, 14:38 GMT+10#13 On a earlier thread someone said that it is legal. Could someone tell me why it wont be legal. I am interested in getting one but if its not legal then i am not sure.

24-08-03, 17:39 GMT+10#14 Im quite sure that just the Calais Eyelids would be legal, but again I could be wrong, a full fibreglass front as in Guards and Bonnet etc on the other hand would be very much illegal in most states but again Im only guessing.

25-08-03, 23:12 GMT+10#19 The whole calais front is made from fibreglass, with thin metal sheeting for the paint anyway.
I doubt some 0.6mm sheet metal is going to absorb much in a crash, and it would be hard to tell the difference as the base is fiberglass.
