I can't see a problem lots of people use N/A pumps in VLT's or vice versa, I'am aware of the 2 different part numbers and one pump is made in France where as the other is made in the Cheq republic, These are Bosch pumps only. Any way if you are serious about power you would update to a bigger pump like a 984 or 44 pump.

Ive heard the same story, that the turbo and non turbo external pumps are different. But in all the years ive been playing with them, I cant tell the difference. I had a old N/a one from the wreckers, running my boosted (15psi) vl turbo for years, never had a problem! Im still convinced they are the same! Easy way to cure any problems, is just fit two!! they are only around 25 bux from the wreckers, or if you want peice of mind, get two new ones.

Internal are the same yes... External are different...only if they are factory items.. Alot of aftermarket external fuel pumps can do both na and VLT as they push out 3L per Minute which is the flow rate needed for turbo....Na only needs 2L per minute Any excess fuel would be returned via fuel return line back into the surge in fuel tank

From memory, Holden only sell the Turbo ones now as they don't differentiate anymore. Can anyone correct me on this?

Was only a few months back, someone made a post here showing there was no difference between the external Turbo and N/A pumps. Had emails from bosch to back it up also.

Anyone in Brisbane have a turbo pump out of their car. I will test it against my NA one. I want to know also. So put your hand up and I'll do it.

The pressure is the same, I have already tested it on my n/a which is now turbo, and my turbo which is now n/a, so you will need to check flow, i dont have a flow meter

Just rig up a test bench. We only want to see volume of fuel pumped at a certain pressure. Come on guys! Boostedcal - You're a bit of a post-whore now hey! Every thread of mine has been replied to by you!

Like i said if its aftermarket fuel pump, it caters for both cars....The only difference is when it came out from factory and the fuel flow rate

The only difference were the numbers on the pumps, that is it.

Hey I tested my in-tank pump today and when it spins it sounds like ****. Like the same noise you get when a bearing has collapsed. Has anyone tried theirs out of the car? Does it sound nice and 'electric' - if you know what I mean.
