I thought I would dedicate todays update to one of my favourite car of all time, the Dodge Viper. History The Dodge Viper was first introduced to the world in 1989 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. It was powered by a 488ci 8L V10 motor originally designed for trucks. 3 years later, the first Viper, the Dodge Viper RT/10 was made available in dealerships. The car was a huge hit, being not only very powerful, but a great looking sports car. Suddently the ever popular Chevolet Corvette had a new competitor, and the popularity, street, and on track wars would continue ever on after that. The first model was considered quite brutal, and at high speed, the car was very noisy. 1992 Dodge Viper RT/10 Only red was avilable originally, but in 1993 black became available, and in 1994 yellow and emerald green were also made available. In 1995, Dodge made available a special edition Viper, the GTS-R, which was strictly for trck use which had a base hp rating of 525, with options for 650 and 750 engines available. Viper GTS-R In 1996 the RT/10 was joined by the Viper GTS, which had undergone considerable refinement and weight reduction. It was also the first hard top Viper. 1996 Dodge Viper GTS Coupe. In 1997, the GTS-R won the FIA GT2 championship and the 1998 24 Hours of Le Mans GT2 class. To publicise this, they built a special edition of 100 Viper GT2s. Horsepower was increased to 460 @ 5200rpm (up from 450) and torque was also increased. Dodge Viper GT2 By 1998, the Vipers had a huge following, and there were over 1700 members in 27 Viper clubs around the USA. A total of 9500 cars had been built in the past 6 years. In 1999 the Dodge Viper ACR was introduced. The ACR stood for American Club Racer, and was a cross between the strictly racing GTS-R and the standard Viper. These cars had more power, less weight, and inproved handling. These cars are favourites amoung the Viper Club racers. Dodge Viper ACR This year in 2003, the Viper has gone under a complete rebuild, and now features a similar, yet agressive new look, and the new 505cube 8.3L V10 motor producing 506hp (372kW) @ 5600rpm with 712Nm of torque. It has a top speed of 307kph. The new name is Dodge Viper SRT-10 LINKS Official Site: http://www.dodge.com/viper/?context...p;type=viperImg (http://www.dodge.com/viper/?context=cars&type=viperImg) References for this writeup: http://www.allpar.com/model/viphist.htm http://www.allpar.com/model/vipacr.htm http://www.angelfire.com/80s/scotts...perhistory.html (http://www.angelfire.com/80s/scottspage/viperhistory.html) http://www.rsportscars.com/eng/cars/viper_srt.asp http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/...03411000302.htm (http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/used/reviews/photos/index.cfm/id/2305/img/92103411000302.htm) http://www.vipercentral.com http://www.dodge-vipers.com The Complete Book of Sports Cars (Bill Reynolds).[/i] Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Apparently rumour has it show car identity Rabih Habib (of R BABY and 4RBABY fame) has one of these in his posession and is looking to turn it into something to absolutely destroy every other show car out there. Stay tuned..........

Great cars, and i'd own one if i won it, but they have the same braking distance as a fully laden semi trailer.... Personally.... gimme Chev power. or a 2003 Ford Mustand SVT. Interesting little look... go to www.pontiac.com and have a look at the new '04 GTO and see what it looks like.

Stay tuned.......... judging by what rbaby looks like then id hate to see a fine dodge fall into his hands. it would surely be the worlds first rice viper.

Expect 20 inch wheel's, full leather trim, airbrushing and all the other usual fruit.

20s and leather would be fine , airbrushing , no matter how tasteful would spoil such a car.
