I have been talking to the manager of Calais Estate in the Hunter Valley Vineyards.....near Newcastle I asked her some details about having a www.calaisturbo.com cruise out there one day soon. She said she would be delighted to have us, and even have a BBQ lunch (I guess it would cost us a little bit each) All we need to do is get some DEFINATE numbers and we can organise a date between us and Calais Estate It is situated about half an hour from the F3 Cessnock exit...Depending on where the majority of numbers will be coming from, will determine the meeting place.....most likely in Cessnock somewhere. They sell wine, jelly bean bottles, hats, shirts, and heaps of other gear......there is also heaps of space for a photo shoot..... After we leave there we could make our way into Newcastle down the New England Highway from Branxton all the way to Newy....... Hope this triggers some interest amongst you all 8)

There will be a fair bit of notice......I would like to make it a day to suit all those interested, when we get a few numbers we can agree on a date, hopefully pretty soon...They are doing a deal with some big Sydney Holden mob at the moment......Buy a Calais.....Get some wine sorta deal.......I told her to stick us in a brochure too 8O

I was just on the phone to Calais Estate, they said they can do a BIG lunch with Steaks, Chicken, soft drinks.....whatever for 8O $25 per head.........OR......a smaller snack type hot lunch for around 8) $10 per head....besides, you have to eat somewhere...... I will bargain with her a bit better when we finalise numbers of cars and people and a date........might even try for a bottle of Calais Estate wine for every calais or something....... :idea: They said they are keen to have us, and there are plenty of nice spots for photos, and on the quiet........some unoccupied tar if people want to show off....... :roll: Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Good work mate, I would be keen to go, although I might have to bum a lift, can't show up in the Bronze Dunger.

yeah im with morepsi i think ill leave the wagon at home cos it aint a calais, but if someone can give me a lift, ill be there for lunch for sure

Its about two hours North of Sydney, taking the Cessnock exit off the freeway.....Meeting place will be at Turner Park, on the way into cessnock...I will give better details when I get definate interest, and dates, It will be at lest 2 weeks before i finalise the dates, so that everybody can get a chance to see the post.. 8) Dunno if they will give away any ****....no one does these days, but I'd say she will come up with some sort of deal when I give her numbers and dates....

Be lucky to get somewhere cheaper than $10 anyway - a bloody happy meal at Maccas is $6 and im sure you'd get a better feed out there. There are heaps of places for pics, including group pics, out the vineyards. Some nice backdrops. And yeah, id say they they wouldnt know the difference between a commodore and Calais but im sure rides can be organised for those who want them. Cheers
