I've got the opportunity to buy a 4 pinion mini-spool at a good price & just wanted to get some info on these little critters. For those of you who have one fitted do you recommend them on a purely road driven car? Are they easy to fit & whats required ?

I wouldn't recommend it for a car that's gonna get driven regularly. All it does is eat your tyre's and bend your axles, but im sure you already knew that.

The only benfit of going a spool is to perform burnouts - Namely dounuts a hell of alot easier, and they tend to last a little longer than lsd's, until you bend or snap an axel. I have one in my v8 cortina and love doing burnouts but in my VL I prefer the lsd because it's a smooth quite car, and I don't want tyre chirpping sounds when I'm turning somewhere and the fact a spool will chew tyres out, but if you run second hand tyres out back who cares. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yeah a mini spool is pretty harsh... expect it to rattle ur dash to pieces... and when other people get in ur car they always say "" what the **** is wrong with your car"" but u just say "" don't like biitch then get out and walk""

Spools are not 4 pinion or 2 pinion, they dont even have a pinion! There a solid type hemisphere with axle splines

Spool is hella fun in the wet.................. Yes it rattles the hell out of your dash, and passengers don't know what the hell is going on, but they can be quite fun Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
