Gday people.
just a quick one.
i recently put Solex locks in my doors.
is it at all possible to rig em up with central locking?
i didnt know so i thought u guys might.
thanks very much.
Yeah it is possible, I've got em on my calais.
And I have said it before and I will say it again:
It is a ****n pain in the ass to get them in the right spot so the central works! :x
no troubles here, they work fine.
Only bitch is that you had to file out some metal to get them to fit properly.
Otherwise they are a good lock. The VLs dont have the VN-VX locking system where you can dead lock the doors, so dont try to twist the key to the left and take it out when it reaches hte notch, otherwise you will do some damage.
You need to use the right clip with your solex locks, othewise it will be a headache. Also you need to put it in the properway, ie: watch the left and right side, as it will be different.
Considering my passengers door lock had a key broken in it, and the drivers one was worn out, it was my only option to get solex locks. If you install them correctly (with the rubber retainer, that fits well when you file out the door lock things) then they will work well. If you install them wrong, well you can twist the lock to open the doors anyway.
While my locks are secure, whats to stop the little prick from using a rock or an elbow to break the window
I had some little ****s try to break into my boot in the VS (had some expensive shoes and digi cam in there too). I think they were watching me or something, because i locked everything in the boot and took off my P plates etc. They attacked it with a screw driver, which proved to be unsucessful, but they sure made a mess of the lock though. This was at crown casino (theft haven).
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
thanx for ur help boys. very much appreciated.
will invest in the black widow car alarm for $450 and get the central locking option for the extra $150. just needed the clarification.
hmmm.... i thought crown had camera's everware?
also, with the locks, when u have them all set up correclty, glue the **** outta them and even stick some fiberglass over it so they will never move - this is good for u in 2 ways...
1 - they wont come out of position for you making it hard to lock/unlock
2 - theves cant use plyers on the outside of the door to twist it around
