I think it was an early Garrett T3 that was used in the carby Turbo Astron 2.0

I actually saw one the other night doing some street testing must have had a new motor or something done as the guy just kept cruising-thrashing around my area , The poor guy also had a canary on it too it had gauges everywhere on the outside and had the plates JOYRIDE. They were called the Peter Wheeret specials and were availble in red over silver or black over silver as far as I know, came with 2 black bonnet vents and 15 inch alloy wheels only on these special edition cars. They used a T03 and SU carby set up, they did go hard for there time, not to sure if they came out in auto though but I have seen one fitted with an auto but might have been a conversion. And they used a Borg Warner diff with 25 spline axels but are fairly strong for the 2.0 litre. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

yeh i know they go hard got a stock sandard one at the moment just looking 4 a little more power cheaply does neone know of a garret t3. would an intercooler be necessary and what sort of boost am i looking at. the bottom end has been rebuilt bearings rings etc. head has been recoed all this roughly 50000 ago. also standard carbie will this provide enough fuel or will i have to get a conversion plate for something bigger ne ideas or suggestions. reliability is not a factor that can be overcome l8r

You could EFI one by useing later magna or Starion bits and pieces and would'nt cost alot too. Or you can go straight L.P.G and run a intercooler there is one in Melbourne built by Jason the Gas Guru. Boost levels well that's up to the mechanic or tuner but I'd say no more than 20psi with a correct setup and external wastegate. Expect to do head gaskets and timing chains though. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
