ok i have a VH sittin in my shed currently with a 173 straight 6 holden motor in it, about 2 meters away i have my recently purchased 327 chevy small block, which has a stage 3 cam, bored out 60 thou, crank grinded 10/10, flat top pistons, heavily ported heads etc. Now my problem being some people have told me that u have to buy a kit to install a small block chev into a VH and someone has told me u just need special engine mounts. This kit is about $1500 but it does come with extractors, but thats more then i have at the moment, so i was hoping someone could help me out here if there is any cheap alternatives. I wanna see how this new engine runs, me and my father built it up from scratch so it should run like a champion. My dad owns a LH SLR 5000 with a 350 chev, with some minor work done and he done a 14.4 sec quater and he wanted to steal my engine, but he has no chance of that.

Seen a 350 Chev in a VH Commo before and was actually featured in an old issue of "Custom Rodder" magazine back in the 80's. There is a bit of mucking around I believe, Why not go a 308-355 Stroker? $1,500 for a conversion kit seems too much try Rod Hadfield at the Castlemaine Rod Shop he makes and sells kits for this very conversion although I don't think this is a very common swap. Try www.rodshop.com.au

yeah i talked to him at the rod shop, he said he would do it for me for 1400 still a bit steap, and i already own the 327 thats why not a 308 stroker. Anyway 327s are the dream engine in my eyes, they are as fast as a 350 and have more potential, due to there small stroke they rev much harder so when they are done up they are a dream
