i wanna buy one (and will one day) i wanna do something a little different with it though... i wanna put an RB30ET in it, but before i get excited... will it fit?? otherwise i'll prolly put an fj20 in it

measure length of VL motor from front to back and check size of datto engine bay to see if you would have to recess the fire wall or not. There is a datto 1600 in this weeks TP with 4.4 Land Rover motor, no rwc/reg

a mate had put one in a 180b, looked like it was ment to be there. it had no trouble spinning in 3rd, i say you just start doing it and make it fit.

an RB30 wont fit in a 1600, I measured it up roughly about 2 years ago, and found the engine would stick out through thr grill.. Yuo'd need some serious firewall mods to do it. Go the FJ

or an SJ20... There was a datsun 120Y(I think) at my mates exhaust shop the other day with a sr20 turbo in it. It had a T66 turbo hanging off the side, full chassis rails etc, and was still street registered.

id like 2 put an RB30et into one of those Datto Skylines. would that fit does any1 know??

A few 1600's up here running around with SR20's in place. They haul.

I Have a mate with a 1600 with a FJ20 Turbo running about 18 psi Its a really shmick car, custom white interior its almost in show room condition....doesn't drive it often.... :twisted: :twisted: Eamon!

Just set the engine back, firewalls are for pussies! If you want to do it, you can. I've seen Minis with 13B Rotaries in em, Ford 289s, 350 chevs, you name it. :mrgreen: love it - that's a real conversion! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
