What would be better a FJ20 or SR20?? What engine bay mods? engineers? cost involved?? What would each motor complete cost?? Where would you pick one up from?? Would it just fit in snugg or what would you need to do?? What diff, transmittion changes would need to be done?? and how much?? thanks for your contributions!

I think the only problem with the fj20 is they are getting older, and harder to find in good condition so that bumps the price up. Sr are still more expansive i think, but fj's are iron block and alot stronger and have a very large aftermarket product range for it. The fastest 200sx has a fj20 btw I have seen gemini's with fj20's but haven't seen one with sr20. I think the conversion would be around the same unless there was a kit readily availiable for each. Both would need engineers, pick both engines outta tradingpost or one forums. Importers will have sr but its abit shady with fj's I told ya fj are header to get :P Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

FJ will be a tighter fit. FJ is harder to get parts for, being an older motor. FJ's were detuned race motors.

This engine is a ripsnorter of an engine, don't be mistaken. The only drama, and this also goes for the fj20, is its lack of stability at hifh revs. With headwork carried out this engine is one tough little sucker, capable of over 500ps with standard bottom end. Don't get me wrong, the FJ20det is a great engine too, but the sr20det comes with more power and torque then it's older brother, and is much more accessable. ever thought of wacking the turbo motor outta a Izuzu Piazza. They bolt straight in except for about 2mm that has to be filed off the firewall not as quick as the fj or sr but intercooled and some other boltons should see you into the 13's not worries. can pick up a piazza frount cut for 3000-4000

Piazza is a better conversion im my eyes as: motor, gearbox, diff and brakes bolt straight up to a gemini. Perfect. Hardly no mods required.

One of the Quickest Gemmi's in Aust runs an Izuzu motor, a Rodeo motor I think. It runs 10's I think. Can some one verify this? Green gemmi on the Gold Coast. Been around for years. 8)

Go onto www.hotgemini.com and talk to a dude called Gene who's putting a fj20 into his car. He would know everything you need to.
