I have just brought an Alpine 7878R MP3 player for my system.
Now all I need is all the files on my computer on to CD-R right sound simple right.
Wrong i have come across some difficulties copying the MP3 files to a blank CD-R. I have been using real jukebox and easy cd creator with no luck does anyone know of software that is user friendly? Or can explain how to complete it with my existing stuff.
Any help would be great!
Cheers Gibbo.

use easy cd creator to create a data disc. they just select as many mp3's as will fit.
A 700m cd-r should fit @ 120 mp3's. Thats with them made at 128. As a guide an average mp3 at 128 will be @ 5-6megs. cheers.

if you try all above and still cant get it to read the CD try a different brand of writable as some are dodgy and cant be read by all cd players. Also check that you "Finalise" the cd otherwise it may not be able to be read properly.

as morqz85 said use nero and it has a wizard guide that is easy to use dose the cds you burn with mp3s work on your computer or doesnt it burn at all :?

easy cd creator often doesnt close sessions, or depending on how it is setup will use packet writing which isnt compatible with mp3 headunits. how r u creating the cd's, if u can drag the files onto the blank cd-r using explorer (without easy cd creator running) then you are using packet writing which is incompatible with mp3 headunits.
try...
using nero, or any other burning package
burning at slower speed

Also remember when you're making a Mp3 CD if there are a few different bands on there and you want to make it easierto find them jus create seperate folders n all you'll have to do after you've burned them n put in into your car is simply flick through to the foler you want n then find your song. Presto

04-07-03, 01:35 GMT+10#14 I've been using Nero for about 3 years. Not one problem. That's just my experience, sounds like others have had problems with Nero.
Download Nero, create a Data CD, drag the files over to the left of the screen, then click burn.
I fit on average around 120-160 songs on a CD.

05-07-03, 02:25 GMT+10#17 hey guys.
me being kind of a techie as well as a car enthusiast, i may have some handy hints about car mp3 players for you
first of all, use nero, it is first class software, and is much more reliable than most (if not all) of the others out there
secondly, if you can, rip tracks at a 'high quality variable' bitrate (in the ripping options) it provides a much higher quality sound than a 128 flat bitrate, which can distort and buzz the bass in a lot of music. this makes the file size slightly larger, but is well worth it.
check your head unit specs to see if it can handle directories (folders) on mp3 cd's, if so, you can burn multiple albums on the cd, each with it's own folder, then, when skipping, you should be able to skip between albums themselves, as well as individual tracks.
finally, if your head unit will read them, use re writable cd's, that way, if the burn doesn't work, you can always re do it without churning out a constant stream of CDR drink coasters.
hope this helps
cheers

19-07-03, 21:48 GMT+10#18 Look, Nero is ok, but it like many other programs have some bugs here and there.
I actually think it is ****. It has too many bugs to be worth the money when there are so many more mp3 programs around.
Really, the only reason Nero is so popular is because people have been providing cracks for it since the beginning.
You'll all have to agree with that.
Anyhoo, if you cant burn a disc with mp3's on it by now, then you are fuc$ing stupid. Either sell you mp3 player or get someone who can follow instrutions to burn them for you.
