my mate has an bt1 blown vs.. ran stock boost and a motec... got 13.2 down the 1/4. they go hard, but at the end of the day it's really a 30 year old motor with alloy heads and a blower on top.. the stock computer can't handle much boost and he says that the blowers are not that efficient.. i don't know much about blowers tho.

those blowers (on the vs supercharged calais) wouldnt be running very much boost...but you can get upgrade kits...just look in street commodores

They run about 4 pound or something small like that. You can get a kit which is just basically a smaller pulley and obviously a new drive belt. Yella Terra make em i think. Or you could go to someone like CAPA and look for more info.

i am considering this route when money is available i dont have the money for an engine rebuild if something bad happens so i am going a small sc14 charger... something that will just force a little more air in there without going too extreme... i would just like to beat vr/vs/vt's and i will be happy. i also dont wana go crazy and start putting in transmission coolers or strengthening things... i just wont something a little different with a little bit more pull ;-) good luck to you - sounds wikked

i wouldnt say putting a tranny cooler in is going crazy, it will be the best 200 you would have spent, even if you leave the car standard get one

Ahh.... correct me if i'm wrong but didn't VS's have the trans cooler as part of the radiator? I know mine does. And according to the Max Ellery's they all do.

i think ur rite my88vl but i think a transmission cooler running on its own is much more efficient... just a guess- i just worry about the engine dying or screwing the gearbox or diff... but as i said, it will done when money persists and possibly (im pretty suire the sc14 has a pulley which can turn it on or off) so that i dont have to strain or work the engine constantly - only when i want to ;-)

The supercharged V6 VS Calais Series 2 was clocked by the motoring mags at the time at 14.6sec for the qtr making it a very nice sleeper when the GTS of the same model was only capable of a 14.4sec qtr. A mate of mine had one and although being a ford fan he loved it. Only problem with it was the way he drove it it went through quite a bit of fuel. Corsa Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
