I was wondering what is involved with the conversion from a carby 202 VK to EFI. I know u need a EFI head, computer, loom, inlet manifold + injectors, what else is involved?

well my mate used to have a auto injected VK stock as a rock and it used to blow all the VLs around, they arent as bad as people say, they have a bit of sting and easy as **** to do up because they still use the old technology

You need to change the computer, fuel pump, they had a different cam, extractors, you have to move the alternator, theres a fair bit involved, i got all the bits. PM me if ur interested

I have driven one of these but I wouldn't say it would blow all VL's away, the example I drove was an automatic Berlina and while it didn't go too bad its midrange performance in auto form is similar to an auto VL all except down low the VK has a little more bottom end torque.
I couldn't compare it to my VL as it is a 5 speed manual, had its ignition timing advanced and has a 3 inch sports exhaust whereas the VK only had 2 hotdog mufflers which were 2.25 inch and the system was press bent, also the fact my car is a manual offsets the loss of bottom end torque making it more gruntier than the auto VK down low.
The VK however has slightly taller gearing for its final drive (3.36:1) whereas the VL has its 3.45:1,I did a head gasket change for a mate of my cousin and filled it up with 50/50 mix of Optimax and Shell LRP whereas the VL runs on full Optimax.
Though in the performance stakes it is o.k. the RB30 is still a far better motor as they have a far better engine life than the black 202 which was never a real good motor.

Some of the pictures don't work cos I've been a slack motherf$%^er and haven't got around to sorting the last couple of pictures. I'll try to do them this weekend.
There is no doubt the VL has a nicer flowing head than the VK, so its potential for higher rpm hotting up with bigger cams is better, but on stock autos, apples for apples everything is pretty similar.
I'd also like to see someone put a 3.45:1 diff in a stock Vk, put a nice 5 speed box in it, and do the usual exhaust, and cold air mods, and see how it would go.

Didn't get all the photos done, but I did get the Electronics australia wiring diagram picture done.
