MAJOR Defect for that, VERY dangerous, and the car will handle like a boat.... seriously dude, look at how much a fine will cost you, save that money and then buy springs.

do not chop
if you are short on cash like me, get them compressed - this will lower the car and you dont have to lash out on buying a new pair or two of springs
good luck but dont chop :!:

i reckon dont lower your car unless you can afford to do it properly. things like that are too dangerous to mess with.

Don't be a tight ass buy proper springs.
Cut springs are dangerous, illegal, give you a terrible ride and blow shockers out, and in some cases can make the tailshaft hit the floor when you hit a bump in the road.
Take our advice don't do it.

Go the real springs, I think the kings super lows will be what you want if you're looking for really low...

Definately dont chop em - when i bought my car, it had chopped springs, it handled VERY badly to the point that it would bump steer on the highway, the whole car would completely change lanes if it hit a small bump - scared the HELL out of me, not to mention the driver that was almost beside me when this happened on one such occasion.

strange, i chopped the front springs on my torry once upon a time, to get the front to sit a tiny bit lower then the arse, and it handled magnificently, altho they did go pop-twang a few time, still handled awesomely but.

saw a new zealand cop show a while ago with real life footage, it showed a honda prelude that was in a serious accident with another car, showed the cops inspecting the honda on a hoist, they ended up using the cut springs on the honda as the main contributing factor and screwed the honda driver!
After seeing that there is no way i will do it, sooner save some money and do it properly.

Chopped springs may not work on jap cars. But on commodores rears no problems. As long as the shocks used keep the spring from falling out when its jacked up. Cutting off 1 or 2 coils is fine. Use proper lowered springs for the front.
